2022 NCAAF OFF-SEASON

Barring an absolutely unmitigated disaster in Tuscaloosa, the Tide will set a new record next year for most consecutive ten win seasons, with 15 (currently tied with FSU from 87-02)

However, they are no threat to Bowden's insane 14 straight top 4 finishes. When you look at both how good and consistent Bama has been under Saban, it really puts that Bowden/FSU record in perspective. It feels unbreakable.

No surprises there. The linebacker play was lacking and a glaring issue at times, and they've already hired a new DC after stripping Coombs of play calling duties during the season. They have to feel like they are some improvement on defense away from winning it all next year.

Todd Graham has resigned as Hawaii's head coach after allegations of abuse/mistreatment of players

The University was standing behind him being all "Nothing to See Here!" so the players said fuck that and started entering the portal en masse. (I know at least 17 had entered in one day)

Iowa and Kirk Ferentz have agreed to an extension

Will run through 2029 - 7 million a year

He will be 75 when the deal ends

In addendum

A very healthy and normal situation in Iowa these days.

Yeah, Ferentz totally decided to dissolve the committee in November and not after the chair called for him to retire. I completely believe that. For sure. Without a doubt. Uh huh.

So Stetson Bennett is playing one more year at Georgia, and JT Daniels has hit the transfer portal.

Seems like a major career miscalculation on Bennett’s part. He has no future in the NFL, sure, but you ever heard of leaving them wanting more, my man? Gonna cost himself a lot of insurance sales by coming back and going 9-3 next year.

How much will he make from NIL rights versus how much he will make as a 3rd stringer in the NFL?

He has access to the same money whether he’s an active player or not. He’s probably even more valuable if he can claim to be an NFL QB. Not that he would make it through one camp on a roster.

On a related note, nobody needs to pull a big-time QB out of the portal more than Lane Kiffin. He badly wanted to get out of Ole Miss on this hiring cycle, and it didn’t happen. Didn’t even get close really. And he knows that there’s a very high likelihood that this thing falls apart without a solid replacement for Matt Corral, and then he’s stuck in Oxford limbo for even longer.

I've seen Jaxson Dart as likely to Ole Miss, although he's currently on an "unexpected" visit to BYU.

Speaking of unexpected visits, Isaiah Neyor portaled from Wyoming to Tennessee last week but took more visits before actually showing up for classes and just flipped to the other, better orange UT.

Oregon Star RB Travis Dye just transferred to USC. Ouch.

Also looks like Derek Mason is leaving Auburn for Oklahoma State, because Bryan Harsin is incapable of getting along with anybody who isn’t from the Pacific Northwest.

Hawaii apparently offered the HC job to June Jones who turned it down

Jones then went on social media and ripped the University for its offer (low money, only two years and the University says who is on the staff)
