I made a new pass at aggregating results from Bahu's FMW World (which includes FMW/SHIN-FMW/ONITA FMW/SUPER FMW, APACHE ARMY, FREEDOMS, WMF, FUYUKI ARMY, WEW, ONITA PRODUCTIONS, Mr. Gannosuke Productions, JUN KASAI, ZEN, W*ING, XWF, Kintaro Kanemura Festival, TOSHIKOSHI, WE LOVE SABU, FFF, NANIWA, Tetsuhiro Kuroda, WRESTLEFEST, HAYABUSA, Takashi Sasaki, MISS MONGOL, FLYDOM, IBF, BEER GARDEN) shows.

FMW ran from 1989 to 2002, but the spirit lived on in many related companies.

Apparently Spinks was in Tag League in 91 - so that would explain like 9 or 10 of his matches.

He teamed with Rufus Blackbone... who I swear to God I have never heard of and I have watched my share of FMW

EDIT - or Blackborn (BAHU has Blackborn while Pro Wrestling History saw Blackbone)

Meltzer had no clue who the guy was back in the day.11/18/91 Observer:

Going into the tag team tournament, Atsushi Onita at press time was in a panic because Dick the Bruiser (who had died that week unexpectedly) was the intermediary in his booking Leon Spinks. Bruiser was supposed to supply four American pro boxers to form two separate tag teams for the tournament, and with Bruiser out of the picture, Onita at press time had no way to contact Spinks and set everything up. Bruiser also sent Calypso Jim for the tour, and Spinks teaming with a guy named Rufus Blackburn for the tour.

12/16/91 Observer:

Black Bone in FMW, who I speculated on as maybe being Dick the Bruiser's son, is actually Rufus Blackbone, billed as a pro boxer.

Rufus showed up once more in the Results section many months later9/8/92 Observer:

8/15 Niles, MI (150): Calypso Jim b Bulldog Don Kent-DQ, Jerry Graham Jr. b P.J. Powers, Chuck Lawler b Rufus Blackbone, Calypso Jim & Andy Scheen b Kent & Graham, Golden Lion b Cousin Luke (Bill Dundee, Bull Pain, Chris Carter and Brian Costello all no-showed)

I think Calypso Jim became Bobo Brazil Jr.

I remember bringing the Japanese magazines to work with photos of Spinks in FMW, and the older black dudes I worked with were so depressed at seeing him "throw the fight" for schmoes like Beritchev.

Does Louie Spicolli = "The White African"? I've heard conflicting things on this.

I'm pretty sure I've seen an FMW handheld in which Dr. Hannibal wins a rumble (last eliminating Tarzan Goto, after a bag of 'blinding powder' to the eyes and the fisherman supplex hold).

God damn, I loved Luther and Hannibal when I'd see them on old scratchy VHS dupes back in the day.

Might have been...

I got the name Blackborn I believe from a FMW magazine from 1991 that listed every wrestler up at that point in English so there might have been a translation mess up.Also Hi69 = HIROKI

Blackborn wouldn't be said by a Japanese person that different from Blackbone and realistically, probably was an error.

I looked up the katakana of the name and translated it to Blackburn. So there was just a one letter mess up in the translation of Blackborn when I read it in the magazine.

White African was not Louie Spicolli. I think I read it years and years ago that it was and I originally had it has him years ago. But he is not. White African was a Canadian they brought in through either most likely Big Titan at that point.

I have a handheld with Pirata Morgan and then he is in the 8/4/90 Commercial tape which had the first Exploding Barbed wire Death Match with Onita vs. Goto.

FMW ran from 1989 to 2002, but the spirit lived on in many related companies.

If you're wanting to incorporate results from all the splinter groups, Onita pro was still running strong in 99, 00, 01, etc..

I noticed because you've got large gaps for Onita in the 00's during periods when he was still really active.

I know BAHU doesn't have them on his stie but results shouldn't be too hard to find i'd imagine.

Kikutaro: 17 matches = 14 singles matches (4-10 = 29% win), and 3 tag matches (1-2 = 33% win)

This stands out as being incomplete

Kikutaro = Ebesan =  Mitsunobu Kikuzawa among other names

he worked a little bit in dying days FMW and was on a ton of Onita Pro shows in his unmasked Kikuzawa days. Surprisingly (if you only know him in his modern incarnation) fun death match worker back then.

I fixed the Ebessen thing in my dataset. Thanks for calling that out! I recall from Colt's interview with him that he worked FMW but I never knew what name he used there.

I did some poking around and came up with about a hundred Onita Pro/Battle Station Onita matches (including about a quarter involving Onita himself) across 19 shows (6/27/1999, 8/22/1999, 9/29/1999, 11/12/1999, 12/26/1999, 1/28/2000, 2/3/2000, 3/14/2000, 5/21/2000, 7/20/2000, 9/24/2000, 1/5/2001, 11/8/2002, 3/26/2005, 7/12/2008, 10/18/2008, 11/1/2008, 11/24/2008, 12/31/2008) that I didn't have. The rest were already in the dataset. I haven't folded these results into the dataset yet, but I have that as a future project.

Thanks for checking it out. I would love to have more mid-90s 2nd tier feds in my dataset. I did do Big Japan 2000-2013 stats a few weeks ago though mid-90s are always more interesting (and tougher to find complete results from).
