Not a typo, folks. Carver is an NCCAA (also not a typo) school with a total enrollment of 60 students. What business does this game have happening, ever?

$$$

Carver College is a minuscule, historically Black Bible college from Atlanta whose men's team gained notoriety last year during the pandemic-disrupted season for barnstorming around the South and losing by huge margins. Carver is part of the National Christian College Athletic Association.

It seems like they are using the money to basically pay for the athletic program and who knows what else at the school.

Other COVID related issues

The reason Kentucky is available for the above is because Ohio State is also affected by COVID

Syracuse postponed their upcoming against Lehigh and Cornell (no word if the games will be rescheduled)

DePaul at Northwestern is off (DePaul with the COVID issues)

UConn women fell four spots to #11 after their loss to Louisville over the weekend.

It's the first time they haven't been in the top 10 since 2005. Their streak ends at 313 weeks.

The Big East has already had 3 forfeits and I doubt they will be the last

The Pac 12 has changed their forfeit policy otherwise everyone and their mother would be losing games

And then there's this.

Bethesda is another NCCAA school. An absolutely catastrophic loss for CSUN.

Mason was supposed to play Wisconsin tonight but that game got canceled because of COVID issues with the Badgers

Kinda sucks since they made the trip to Madison and now are stuck not doing anything before Christmas

And Mason is only here because the Badgers' original opponent cancelled due to COVID...

Since Dec 21 - George Mason has played one game (against Kansas). All the other ones have been cancelled or postponed (the cancelled one was against Wisconsin)

Pre-Kansas it was the other teams dealing with COVID. Since Kansas, it is Mason that has COVID issues.

Good times...

Don't look now but your Miami Hurricanes are 3-0 in ACC play and on a 9 game winning streak overall. Travel to #2 Duke tonight at 8pm. Guess we're going to find out if we're for real or if it's just smoke and mirrors. I'm hopeful though. Whenever we're halfway decent, Larranaga is usually pretty good for at least one or two big wins over Duke and/or UNC a season. Kinda crazy to think about considering how low we were during the Perry Clark and Frank Haith days.

Gonzaga has suspended the season tickets of John Stockton for refusing to comply with the university mask mandate. Stockton is off-the-deep-end antivax and antimask. When contacted by the local paper for comment, he claimed "over 100 professional athletes" have died from the vaccine along with "millions" of others. He's also been in a "documentary" on the topic.
