Aaron Rodgers Very Big Dumpster Fire Thread

Ivermectin is technically used to treat the same thing in humans, parasites like lice and worms and stuff, but you need a prescription, so that's always been a bit misleading, but people did go to the feed stores and buy the junk because doctors refused to give it to them. The prescribed dosage for people is just pill form, so it's on another level insane. There's nothing wrong with poorer people going to farm and feed stores to get stuff they can't afford like antibiotics and what not if it's safe for humans. It happens all the time outside and even inside the USA. This isn't that.

The science behind it doing anything is pathetic and almost nonexistent. A bunch of crappy studies on very few people with mixed results and their big one being pulled for being fraudulent, so basically it doesn't do anything that they know of without a giant ass study of it. I don't think any has happened yet. The studies that showed it working were also in like lab settings and not people and were enough of a dose to kill you if I recall properly.

no further qualifying necessary

most guys are half way there already with the "jockspeak" stack of a dozen or so standard cliche sports answers, so it really surprises me that more people aren't following Lynch's example more exactly, in general.

There's a lot of folks in particular who would be doing themselves a considerable favor if they did.

Between working and traveling, I missed Rodgers interview as it was happening. This thread has been glorious to read.

Side note: just looking at Rodgers on the Macafee show he looks a complete douchebag. Like guy who has somehow been sleeping in your living room for a week after a party but nobody recognizes.

One team executive said he received a memo from the NFL about the COVID-19 protocols that read, in part: "Any such individual with bench area access who is not fully vaccinated except for active players shall be required to wear masks at all times. Unvaccinated inactive players must also wear masks."

One executive told ESPN: "That's B.S. ... What's going on in Green Bay, that's not what teams were told by the NFL. Our players wore masks all the time. We made our guys that weren't playing wear masks."

------------

The league also is looking into a Halloween party that multiple Packers players attended, including Rodgers, when they were seen on social media not wearing masks. The NFL has rules set up that only a certain number of players can be together outside of the team's training facility; the league believes a violation may have been committed.

Rodgers and the Packers are facing fines but no suspensions for potential protocol violations, according to a source.

On the Fox pregame show Glazer said suspension is not even on the table as a possible punishment for Rodgers. Only fines for him and The Packers. But doesn't that set a bad precedent? It gives all the players incentive to lie about their status and try to get around the protocols. Because even if they get caught (and Rodgers only did because he caught covid after 8 weeks of getting away with it), the worst that will happen is they will take what amounts to like .5% of your paycheck away. So where is the downside to lying?

I'm well aware stars get different treatment. But for as strict and serious as the NFL has taken the pandemic, this is a bad look.

They're only mad because we found out. Otherwise, they could keep pretending. They probably hope we'll forget in a week or two when something else stupid happens(not another DUI murder because people seem to have forgotten that happened because who cares about the dead when some stupid rich idiot lied to the media?)

I get the sentiment. One of these is far far worse than the other, but the Rodgers stuff is getting way more coverage. But there isn't much to talk about in regards to the DUI murder. It's no longer an NFL issue. The player who did it is going to jail for a very long time. Exponentially more important and more sad than the Rodgers thing. But Ruggs' situation doesn't allow a lot of room for opinions and talking heads. He fucked up as badly as a human can. No one is gonna "yeah but" his decision. It's sad as hell. And we're all in universal agreement that a man just ruined his own life, and worse took the life of another innocent person because he was too stupid to make the right decision not to drive.

I can't hate on ESPN & other networks not wanting to dwell on something so sad and horrible.

Didn't the Raiders and Saints lose a draft pick in addition to the fine?

Only the Saints did - everyone thought the Raiders would be they ended up just being fined

But that was under last year's safety protocols (which lets be honest - they basically made up as they went along)

Remember kids,  shutting the fuck up is free. It can't cost you anything,  but with proper application,  it can buy you a lot. Aaron Rodgers could have gone down in history as an all time great quarterback who was a little quirky... now he's this.

Did the old "discount double-down"
