A lot of people say that.  Then they sign on the dotted line when the other party meets their price.  Punk seems like he might be a true believer, so to speak, but I'm cynical enough to think he could have reached a deal if Vince had made the right offer.

A lot of people say a lot of things,  but I think the thing that runs people the wrong way about Punk is that he actually means the things he says. One of the things that will lose you friends and alienate people is not to not have any use for bullshit. There is a base level of bullshit we all kind of just accept. If you don't it will kind of fuck you over socially.

I partly agree, but, even if it is "entitled" bullshit, it worked.  Fox squawked and Vince jumped and produced Brock.  Why shouldn't the network demand more and bigger stars from Vince if they think it will work.

As much as people blame Vince for every little decision, Vince is way to indebted to the tv networks.  When push comes to shove, the networks have been able to call their shots for awhile now.

Besides, Dave Meltzer has been saying for awhile now that the long-term plan for Brock was Roman at WrestleMania 2023.  As bad as this company is at long-term planning, there was probably no realistic chance they'd be able to hold off for a year and a half for that match.

Hey, good for Fox if they can get it, but now the people who still watch WWE (PPV's at least) have to suffer through Brock again.

Yeah, I have little interest in Brock unless he's here to put Roman over strong and vary up the Suplex City formula.  If the plan is to have Brock throw Roman around like a rag doll then suplex him 15 times, only to have Roman retain the title when Brock slips on a banana peel, I'll pass.

Being mad at WWE for not signing CM Punk is like my mom being mad at Rihanna for not dating me. Why the hell would anyone in their right mind expect that to happen?

Fox managed to sign CM Punk, to do WWE Backstage. They found it quite easy, as I understand.

Didn't he more or less admit being willing to return to WWE just a couple of years ago? I imagine Fox bringing him into that WWE talk show was probably in some hope that he would. I suspect the interest just wasn't that high for Punk or WWE.

3 hour Raws and many of the themed shows we have seen are directly because of USA.

The problem is there is no real reason for them to think random big stars will work. Pretty sure Brock hasn't been a big ratings bumper for a while. Did Cena deliver a big bump to Smackdown's ratings?

If I'm not mistaken, the 24/7 title was also a USA request.

Was it the Instagram post of Lesnar that was viewed 4 million times? Plus the boosted ticket sales recently when Cena was announced for shows. Good or bad, right or wrong, there are concrete reasons for them to think random big stars work, now.

For WWE its a boost on social media and maybe sales. Whether or not its enough of one to justify the money to bring them in I'm not sure. I'm talking about the networks. For them I'm not sure how much they really get out of this ratings wise which is what I assume they are after.

I never thought I'd be happy about Impact losing their UK TV deal, but if they suddenly started featuring Porn Strokeman, I'd probably stop watching anyway.

Quick! Someone send Scott D’Amore the definitive DVDVR list of Brawn Strowman alternate names.

”we know who that is….. it’s Prawn Snowman”

At very least he needs to be known as Adam Scherrmann!

Some people think Adams new name might be Titan. In other impact news....Buddy, Windham (Bray) could be both Impact bound.

Not sure where the former IIconics will end up, but for now seems they will work the indys.

That's quite the addition to Impact's roster, if that ends up being true.

On his first appearance, on Rampage a week ago, SM Punk had AC written on his shoes. On his second, on Dynamite 2 days ago, he had BW.

So clearly he thinks Ashely Cole should come out of retirement, and sign for Bolton Wanderers.

I haven't read or found anything concrete yet for a new gimmicks mandate for the Superstars in WWE,  but it does seem to be switching to must have something to stand out. Some of the gimmick changes shown on tv recently and the last year have been suggestions or ideas from the Superstars themselves and not creative.

WWE wants more money from merch which has very much increased these past months. The gimmicks help with that.

There is NO other logical explanation. That must be it.

Back to the new WWE hiring recruitment process, keep in mind they mean not hiring from American indys, so outside of America it's unknown if hiring from other countries indys is ok. WWE is still interested in signing non indy talent from other countries promotions like Japan and Mexico and etc.

If they don't want American workers who haven't been born and bred in their system, why would they want foreign workers who would theoretically have more habits they need to break?
