Predictions:

Stadium Stampede II will be the main event when it should be Shida/Baker. I can also see Young Bucks vs. Mox/Kingston going on last.

If you main evented Shida-Baker I think you would be compelled to do a double turn because I don't think Shida is a strong enough babyface to carry a main event match against Baker who I think we can agree is the choice to go over. I don't know if anyone can close a show with a heel going over with as much crowd support as Baker is likely to have.

Have Nick Fuckin' Gage debut in the Battle Royal, not win it, but come out later to prevent outside interference from the Good Brothers?

Nice idea though if he's gonna do the save then I would have him just do that and use somebody else for the battle royal.

I thought about that too, but then how many surprises do you have in one night? I mean, there's a non-zero chance of Bryan Danielson showing up, too, and you wouldn't wanna waste him in the Battle Royal, right?

Nah, Danielson would blow the roof off as a surprise (coming from me who is very selective about who you use as a surprise) and having him win a title shot in his first appearance would draw serious buzz for a show that really needs it.

Nick Gage and Mance Warner as Moxston's surprise backup would get a pop out of me.

New gimmick for Danielson - King of the Battle Royale.

Seems like a 'let's get as many people on the card that we can match' to me. The Casino Battle Royal as a concept sucks. It removes the 'OH MAN IT'S THIS GUY' pop of the Royal Rumble and the 'Look at all the people' picture from Battle Royals. With all these people, there are like 3 who can actually win.

Who's the third? Christian, TBA, and... Jungle Boy?

Listening to TK on AEW's pod he said a few times hyping up the show that there's going to be surprises he's looking forward to.  I am not going to speculate but I sense at least one of the ideas that people are hoping for here are going to happen.

That's not me pulling a Flair's Shadow, just my interpretation of it mixed with optimism.  And honestly there needs to be that big surprise as on paper try as I might I am not feeling this show like I should be.  It's going to be at worst pretty good but the only thing I'm interested in is number 21 for the battle royal.  I'm just hoping I'm not disappointed with whoever that ends up being.

I think it's a safe bet that Nick Gage is in the Casino Royale. But I hope the twitter-verse doesn't take Tony's hype and run with it like they did at the last PPV. Punk, Lesnar, Cena, & D-Bry are not showing up. Never say never. But just keep those expectations in check lol.

Danielson would absolutely blow the roof off the fucker. I'd be down for D-Bry showing up in AEW. Do I think it's gonna happen? Not likely.

I'm also trying not to be too hopeful, and it's not like I'm even watching the show live, but my brain can't help but get worked up with the fact that Danielson wants a place where he can potentially work Japan or Mexico at his discretion, WWE doing a quiet shuffling of D-Bry to their alumni section, AEW having one of their big shows in front of a full live crowd for the first time in forever, and ZERO news for weeks as to where he's going next. The hush-hush of it all screams that wherever he's going, somebody wants it to be a big surprise. If he was to appear at Double Or Nothing, it's perfectly laid out to be a huge deal.

...but yeah, if it doesn't happen, it won't really be all that shocking, even if still a bit of a bummer.

In terms of AEW's mysterious PPV debuts, Was Matt Sydal mad underwhelming? Was Brian Cage? Was Ethan Page? Was Christian Cage?

Because in terms of those precedents, in terms of those levels, Nick Gage isn't really Mr Unknown from Nowhere.

And the rhyming thing works except for Sydal.

Maybe I'm not that far deep in the wrestling bubble...but what has Nick Gage done more than indy death matches and an episode of Dark Side of the Ring? And what value would he bring to AEW on a weekly basis to warrant such a prominent spot on a ppv, other that to fulfill fantasy booking ideas from those deep in the aforementioned wrestling bubble? I'm might have even asked this before. I just can't wrap my head around this lol

Yeah, the problem is that now that we've allowed ourselves to imagine hearing "Final Countdown" on an AEW show, we have opened the door to anything else feeling a bit deflating. Like, imagine how happy we might have been if it's Juice Robinson or someone like that and we hadn't been hoping for Bryan...

Now, perhaps, "Eater of World" or "Tour of the Islands" starts playing and Jeff Cobb storms to the ring... and the crowd lets out a disappointed sigh.

Cass is in Impact under the name "W Morrissey". Enzo is not. Nobody likes him and he's a danger to himself and others in the ring.
