They think it's all over.. IT IS NOW.

ENGLAND HAVE REGAINED THE ASHES.

Edit: And that sound you hear is ECB and the folks at Trent Bridge breathing a small sigh of relief. Not about the ashes, that's pure joy, but the rules state that if less then 10 overs are bowled on a day, the crowd is eligible for a refund of their ticket price. 10.1 overs were bowled. (since <25 overs were bowled, then the crowd can still get 50% of their ticket price back)

Quite simply the best morning of cricket I've ever experienced.

Same here.

LOLS at the Aussies. Embarrassing. Going to get ripped by fans and the media.

we've been ripping them for the last 2 Tests...  Clarke to retire after the 5th Test.

I just got an email for a thing called Gods of Cricket at Citi Field on November 7th. Apparently it's an all star game type thing played under 20-20 rules. I know almost nothing about cricket but I really think I have to go to this as an experience.

yeah, two of the all time greats (Shane Warne and Sachin Tendulkar) are doing a three match series here in the US

You going to make the journey 4 hours south for this? Tickets start at $50 because I figure these guys are getting huge money for this. Pricey but I'm going because this is so incredibly rare. Interesting footnote is that there was at least one cricket match at Shea Stadium in the late 70's- early 80's.

Exhilirating scenes on display during the climax of the first match of the ODI series between South Africa and India.  India, chasing down a total of 303 set by South Africa, needed 11 runs from the final over to win the match.  The South African bowler?  20 year old Kagiso Rabada, who had only just made his ODI debut for the Saffers in July.  As SA looks to be on the verge of living up to their reputation for bottling matches at the end, with seven runs required from three balls remaining, the youngster snatches two wickets to end the late surge from India.  Awesome stuff.

... Oh my. Can England play out the completest great escape from a boring draw ever?

edit: To explain: First four days of the Pakistan vs England test match (played in the UAE because of the instability in Pakistan) was boring as hell. Pitch wasn't doing much of anything, so the bowlers were just toiling for ages with little result. Pakistan scored 523/8 (declared), and England went better then that, 593/9 (declared). So the first four days plus a bit of the fifth day saw 1116 runs scored and 17 wickets taken.. and there was no odds that you could get that the match would end in anything but a draw. But Pakistan go gillooly in the fifth day, and collapse to 173 all out in their second innings. It gave England a chance if they could score fast enough to score an unlikely win (needing 99 in scheduled 20 or so overs).. but sadly, bad light forced the game to a premature end with 25 runs to get.

Boring first four days, insane last day.
