Absolutely breathtaking batting from the Netherlands against Ireland this morning in the World Twenty20.  193 in 13.5 overs to make it into the Super 10, I still can't believe that happened.  Their innings in real-time was like watching the highlights of another match.

Ouch. The same Netherlands team who could've probablty scored 250 against Ireland score 39 against Sri Lanka in a blink and you'll miss it massacre.. Netherlands score is by far the lowest in a T20 international (previous record was 56)

What a game between Sri Lanka and England. England could chase down a massive total

Edit: And they pull it off, going from two wickets down without a run to 190 for 4, Hales with an England record 116 (not out) off 64 balls.

Riveting. Absolutely Riveting.

Kevin Pietersen is going to be a damn busy guy this spring and summer.

Coming up, he'll be playing in the IPL for Delhi.. then he'll be playing simultaneously for Surrey (in their T20 league mainly) and St Lucia (in the Caribbean Premier League), flying back and forth (8 hours each way) to make all the games

So... that was... insane.

Mumbai vs rajasthan in the final meaningful game of the Indian premier league season. Mumbai needs not only to win.. but to do it in 14.3 overs to take fourth place to qualify for the playoffs (and also qualify for the Champions League t20 tournament)

When Rajasthan put on 189 in their innings.. it looked impossible. 190 is a high target in 120 balls.. to do it in 87 is nearly impossible.

Nearly.

Thanks to some big timely hitting the Mumbai team was 188 for 4 at the 14.2 over mark. The dream was seemingly dead when the shot was scuffed and the batsmen were run out going for a second run..

Then they realized that with the score tied.. The match wasn't QUITE over yet. They did the math and realized that Mumbai still had a chance to move their seasons run rate ahead of their opponents. They would have ONE more ball... and they needed at least a four to do it. To make things worse.. since the last batsman had been run out.. The new batsmen would face the delivery.

In baseball terms.. it's like the pinch hitter came in with two strikes and needed at least a ground rule double.

The ball was bowled.. and hammered for six runs and massive celebations

England bounce back from a humongous shellacking against Sri Lanka with.. an even more humongous shellacking of Sri Lanka, only needing less than a quarter of their scheduled innings to win.

Sri Lanka 67 all out (24 overs/50)

England 73/0 (12.1 overs)

Oooh, some spicyness to the fifth and deciding One Day game.

Before the game, it was announced that the umpires had reported Sri Lanka's Sachithra Senanayake for possible violations in his bowling actions (amongst other things, you are not supposed to be able to bend your arm when you bowl the ball).

This means that he will have to undergo tests to determine if his bowling style is legal within 21 days. If he falls short, he will be formally barred from bowling until his delivery conforms to standards.

Then, in today's game, England are 199-6 in the final few overs, when the same guy controversially mankad's England's star batsman.

for those of you who don't follow cricket, Mankading is running out the non hitting batsman for leaving the crease early before the ball is bowled. This is the first time that it's happened in 22 years (the last time it happened was in 1992). Sri Lanka had warned the batsman previously, but generally it's just not done as everyone sees the non hitting batsman take a step or two forward as the ball is delivered.

Let's put it this way, the umpire knew the batsman would have to be given out, and he still asked Sri Lanka's Captain if he wanted to formally make the appeal, because he KNEW it would be a controversial thing.

And another fucking crazy finish to the Second Test, as it goes down again to the second to last ball of the Test, but this time, it's given out, and England Lose.

Such a shitty way to lose. Felt particularly sorry for Moeen Ami who scored a well earned first test century batting all day and James Anderson who was dismissed with his reactions to it.

They're celebrating 200 years of playing cricket at Lord's Cricket Ground, and throwing an all star friendly game featuring two all star teams (MCC vs Rest of World XI). Game is live in the US on ONE World Sports

Lots of the recent past stars, (Tendulkar, Warne, Lee, Lara, Sehwag, Collingwood), etcetera.

While it's... not HYPER competitive (rumor has it that they removed Ajmal from the bowling because he had four wickets in his first four overs), it's still competitive.. (Brett Lee accidentally hit Shane Warne with a beamer line drive delivery, probably breaking his hand)

Craig Kieswetter takes a bouncer to the face through the helmet.. posts picture on twitter before undergoing surgery.

"Injury update: broken nose and a fractured orbital socket. Surgery is required but thankfully no lasting damage to the eye.."

Ouch.
