Was it cause of the sideburns?

As a sideburns owner myself, I loved Gorilla's. Hated Lars'. But my all time favorites are Don Leo Jonathan and CM Punk right before he walked.

No, because he was a madman in the ring but an erudite in interviews.

Didn't he have a history of offensive/hateful posts too?

I don't wish the guy any harm, he can go find something else to do with his life, but I have no problem with him never being in the pro wrestling industry or public spotlight ever again.

It doesn't seem like wrestling is in him, so I guess you will get you wish.

I spend altogether way too much time arguing with IDW-tards on Twitter, and I have no truck with any of their bullshit or any of Lars from that bodybuilder forum. But there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine respectable people who do not need to repent

Roland Pryzbylewski is one of my favourite characters in The Wire. He's a dumb, piece of shit at the start of the series, blinding a kid in one eye for looking at him funny, but by the end of it he's redeemed and is one of the few characters who finishes both alive & reasonably uncompromised.

Man, Yoko at the size he was when he first came in was legit awe-inspiring. He was crazy-athletic for a dude of the size he was then. Early Yoko has elite-level squashes of jobbers.

EDIT: Look at this dope-ass shit right here.

Vince's growl when he says "girth" disturbs me.

Prez's behavior was the result of peer pressure rather than some kind of internal hatred. Maybe hanging out in that environment made Lars say what he said, but I doubt it.

I am not sure that's a valid read. There were plenty of cops that didn't pull the shit he pulled. But I'm not sure why that somehow makes what he did to the kid excusable.

Sullivan obviously got involved in some G4P, not uncommon in the fitness industry....and yeah that almost certainly caused him issues. Not defending anything he said, he was a bigot but tbh with a lot of this stuff I just see the ugliness of dunking on a guy who clearly has problems, and in this case there is barely a victim. There's an Orwell quote about the unadulterated joy of finding a target for righteously targeting...I need to find it.

I don't think what Prez did is excusable at all, though thankfully he redeemed himself somewhat by working with children to better their lives instead of being a fucking cop. Sorry if it read that way. What I meant to get at is that I just didn't think the two situations are really close enough for comparison. I get the cut of your jib though.

When the Instagram comments happened I was, and still am, done with Lars. He clearly didn't learn from the first time. I can only feel so bad for him in regards to mental health issues. I have bad depression and anxiety too, I'm sure many others here have too. It's not an excuse to then act like he did.

I will say, I find it sad that once again, being a shitty person didn't matter but missing shows is what got him fired.

He didn't commit a crime and even if he had, if he shows actual improvement as a person I think he can allowed a 2nd opportunity down the line.

I pretty much agree with this.   I think he's been punished sufficiently- kinda like the Sammy Guevara situation, but on a much larger scale (and I think Sammy got a bit more than he should have, but it was the worst time for that to come out, and I think most have forgiven Sammy because it was a youthful mistake that wasn't criminal)

I am taking Lars's contrition as genuine though.

The question is- where is the line where someone's behavior becomes irredeemable:  to me that line is just past Will Ospreay/Bea Priestly if the worst allegations against him were true (I consider them debunked- or at least explainable- at worst it's a clear "not proven").  I can't forgive Elgin , Marty, or Chase though.

I do think Lars needs therapy, I hope WWE pays for it,  and hopefully he doesn't try to come back to the business unless he's truly able to do so.

Well he had already more or less redeemed himself by becoming passionate about detailed casework, then he shot the other cop by mistake (probably negligently, but it wasn't wilful) the one time he was in the field - then he changed jobs. Anyway looks like Lars Sullivan will be doing something else, but he seems to be handling things the right way - apparently that bodybuilding forum did contain some peer pressure to say dumb shit to fit in so there you go, and Titus O'Neill spoke to him at length and he was satisfied he wasn't *that* guy. I dunno, I see dumb shit, and dumb shit can cause real damage don't get me wrong, but I just don't see an evil person here. So assuming he's on the up and up, I do wish him the best in his future endeavours. Unless he shows up in Japan or something, I guess that's that.

What's funny is Becky tweeted a picture of one of the backstage curtains.  So I immediately thought she'd be a surprise entrant.  It is good she wasn't as it helped ensure that the correct winner won.  But I really do miss Becky so I guess it was wishful thinking on my part.

But honestly I think she's set for life.  She mentioned on Austin's podcast that her goal was to have a kid and open a coffee shop.  So with one goal done I can't imagine the other one's far behind.

EDIT:  Darnit, Dolfan I'm sure glad I work from home.  Because if I saw your spoiler box my co-workers would give me a side-eye due to me laughing from that.

I'll bet that Seth is one damn fine barista!

It is a bit funny, but if you'll check out my posts regarding this aspect of Lars, it really seemed like the WWE dropped the ball when their self-stated goal is to take one's existing personality and crank it up to "11". Lars is pretty well-spoken and they were just touching on the duality of his being a bright articulate guy away from the ring and a roaring monster once he got between the ropes. They really didn't push on this as hard as they should have, maybe they thought the whole concept was too subtle for the "Universe", but if anyone recalls him being interviewed while "No Way Jose" is having a match, he's just pure gold as he gradually slow burns over Jose's annoying music and finally loses it and does a run-in stomping Jose into the mat. Pure gold, and anyone with half a brain would "get it". Lars was a real missed opportunity, though it sounds like his own demons were doing a pretty good job of sabotaging him as it was. The dude sounds like he realizes that 90% of his problems are self-created and that in and of itself is a tremendous step. Yeah, he's said some nasty, hateful things that you would expect from a self-loathing meathead, but it sounds like he's matured a bit and knows what the problem is which is the first major step in fixing the problem, y'all need to honestly identify what the problem is, and it sounds like he's done that. I wish him well.

I get a feeling he likes going strong on the caffeine which is up my alley.  Plus as long as he's not shilling WWE I'd be happy talking ROH with him if they're having a slow day.

As for Lars I know I called him a shithead but if he's more self-aware of his past then good for him.  I hope that he ends up being a much better person but when the past is out there for people to see it's going to take a long time to convince many that he's doing better.  So while I still maintain he shouldn't be a public figure for his sake that would work as he would only need to prove that to the people that matter to him.
