Has anything worth seeking out happened during BOSJ or WTL? I just realized that I haven’t paid any attention to NJPW since ZSJs title match.

I've been watching BoSJ, most of it has been fun but nothing worth going out of your way for. Night 4 (Aichi) and Night 6 Korakuen probably stand out as they had two really good semi-mains and mains (Hiromu/Desperado & Eagles/ELP for Aichi, Hiromu/Ishimori & Desperado/Eagles for Korakuen night 6). Night 5 in Korakuen was fun too for all the inter-faction matches. Stay away from all the SHO matches if you don't enjoy EVIL's shtick, because SHO is now just effectively junior EVIL.

WTL on the other hand has not been great, only stand outs being Taichi murdering TAKA like he owed him money and the Dangerous Tekkers vs United Empire match from Night 4.

Can add O Khan as another guy along with Tekkers and Naito and Sanada who all want to revive the tags division of NJPW.

O Khan said the GHC tags have no value and he wants to throw them into the sea, and he said both champions can't walk too much. We might see him and his partner vs Marufuji and Muto.....

He called NOAH indy. Tbh only NJPW is the true large scale Major.

I haven't paid much attention to Dragons Gate in years. Is it still the second largest, or has the pandemic given chance & time for NOAH to rival it again? Once NOAH fell DG kind of became no. 2 by default, and even they seemed far away from NJPW.

Dragongate was always considered indy (even if they did drew more for awhile) in Japan last decade. My mind is blurry on this but Dragongate attendances went down last few years, for Kobe World Memorial Hall shows below 6000. Even before Covid.

Probably because of Cima and his boys leaving. It's a Ultimo Dragon Toryumon promotion again.

Hasn't been a true strong number 2 in years in all of the metrics combined either. Most of non NJPW promotions have something over the others, bigger roster, combined attendances, big show attendances, sponsors, money backers, better tv reach etc.

AJPW could have booked more Sumo hall shows the last few years, but they obviously decided on saving money not renting that building and not losing money.

Link below for CyberFight Co Ltd and their sub ltd's under that ltd and NOAH money related info, may need to let the machine auto translate...

https://catr.jp/companies/277aa/36270

They make small profits/net income, and for NOAH. Now next year it will be more when covid is done away with, so even more money next year.

The previous versions of NOAH (they had several ltds in the last decade and some bankruptcies and boughtouts prior to CyberAgent) from the last decade hammaorgaged money for years.

Suwama is gonna scout for wrestlers and develop them, he wants to pass down what Hase taught him, the Hase "ISM". To Olympic people and other sorts of athletes AJPW wants to hire.

With the exceptions of Fuchi and old man Omori, not many contracted men left in current AJPW have links to pre NOAH split AJPW and no new rookies will have the training from deceased Aoki and his NOAH lineage, who was trained by old AJPW guys himself.

Kinda kafabey, but Masa Chono wants to redo the wrestling association thing again with NJPW and NOAH and be the first chairman. Both NJPW and NOAH are the 2 strongest promotions now.

He went on to talk about if he didn't got and called Misawa up to work in NJPW during the May 2002 Tokyo Dome show, NJPW probably would've collapsed. The rotten and dying upper top management of the time had nothing booked.

NJPW vs U-Inter and NJPW vs WAR feuds of the 90's were brought up and "absorbing".

Keep in mind nothing may happen in regards in forming this wrestling association.

The final teams in AJPW’s tag league are not surprises:

Runaway SUPLEX (Suwama & Ashino)
NEXTREAM (Kento & Yuma)
TOTAL ECLIPSE (Kuma & Doi)
Kengo Mashimo & KAZMA SAKAMOTO

Not sure what the matchups are. Glad they’re getting a bit more behind Kuma & Doi.

It’s Suwama/Ashino vs Koji Doi/Kuma Arashi

Kento/Yuma vs Kengo/KAZMA

Jake and Hokuto are facing the BJPW team again, for some reason. Maybe setting up a TC defence.
