So, THIS is what won the Cannes Palme d'Or this year.

Titane (dir. Julia Ducournau)

...who directed Raw, and if anybody saw that, you know what you're in for. Or having read this review, maybe nobody does!

Also, trailer is NSFW for a butt and constant sexiness (even though they blurred some breasts?)

I have heard good and bad about Titane.  I will have to check it out one of these days.   Hopefully it will go to Shudder as a part of the distribution.  They've gotten a lot of art house horror exclusives lately.

What’s a super sleazy horror film to watch this October?

Are we talking good (good <> quality, "good" = I'd recommend it) sleaze like Evil Toons / Night of the Demons / anything with Linnea Quigley and Brinke Stevens in it, so bad its good sleaze like the Basket Case trilogy, or I Dare You To Watch This horror movie iceberg sleaze like August Underground's Mordum?

Maybe not the last one.

Yeah, I am not a big fan of the joints that must be endured rather than enjoyed either.  Anyways, I think the 80's was the Golden Age of Trashy Horror since it was at the height of the slasher movie boom, so nearly every horror movie made had slasher movie tropes baked into them even if they were monster movies.

And of course the list of sleazy giallo is a mile long.

If I am being brave and am pushing the boundaries of taste but not blowing them into a million bits, I guess my Top 10 list in no particular order would look something like:

1. The Basket Case trilogy - The twisted tale of a guy and his deformed and batshit insane conjoined brother.  There are some scenes in this trilogy that you will not be able to unsee.

Spoiler

Like when the deformed formerly conjoined brother is having sex with a deformed formerly conjoined girl in the middle movie of the trilogy

2. The Sister of Ursula - This may be the sleaziest giallo ever made.  It even beats out Don't Torture A Duckling.

3. The Night of the Hunted - The template of Euro-Trash horror. Brigitte Lahaie naked = good times.

4. The Last House On The Left - Wes Craven made a movie so sleazy that the Italians copied the formula for years to come.  That is really saying something.

5. The Last House on the Beach - The Italian trash epic that pretty much made the appearance of a nun in Euro-trash horror movies (The Killer Nun, Flavia:  The Heretic) a mandatory thing.  It is also blatantly crafted from the Last House on The Left formula as if the title wasn't a dead giveaway.

6. Nightbeast - A movie about an alien monster rampaging through Baltimore featuring the most awkward sex scene ever captured on film and a teenage JJ Abrams contributing to the soundtrack. I'm not even joking.  You cannot make up shit like this.

7. The Dead Next Door - a zombie chunk blower so wretched that Sam Raimi could not bring himself to use his actual name in the credits.   This movie is produced by "The Master Cylinder."  This gem, LeBron James, and DEVO are the only worthwhile things ever to come out of Akron, Ohio.

8. The New York Ripper -  Yeah, it's as mean spirited as you've heard.

9.  Pieces -  Yep.  That's an X-Rating, kid.

10. Evil Toons - You will not ask why the demonically possessed pornstar fondles her victims' boobs before she kills them.  You will just accept it.

There are times like this when I miss El Rey Network ON DEMAND and its queue of uncensored giallo classics.

Looks like PIECES might win default, Since it’s streaming on Tubi.

Pieces is also in my AMC+ / Shudder / Sundance+ queue.

Basket Case I and II were on TCM Underground sometime this past year so you may want to hit up TCM On Demand to see if there are any sleazy horror classics there.

I think BASKET CASE is on Kanopy. Great service.
