I will admit that it is a great value if you care for the stuff Peacock has.  I signed up earlier and checked and there's maybe a couple things but unfortunately not much there that I can't find elsewhere.  We'll see what they have by March but unless that ends up being my only way to watch G4 then I think I'm good without the network.

I signed up to Peacock to watch the Saved by the Bell reboot pilot, which was really, really bad. I deleted the app from Roku and haven't thought about it again since.

The only things that would get me to sign back up again were if NXT were moved solely back to the Network, if the PPVs didn't completely suck, and if the build to them didn't suck. SmackDown is alright, but Raw is just plain awful. ECW getting actual music back would also be nice, but that's never going to happen. A big part of ECW for me was the music and hearing the laughably bad, soft core porn music they use for music makes ECW look so terrible.

Other than that, I more than got my fix of older WWE and WCW stuff. I don't have much of an interest in re-watching that stuff again and I'm more into watching older NJPW at this point until I get my fill of that. Maybe if WWE put up independent content on the Network then that would be something of a selling point, but I even think that ship has sailed for me now.

I keep forgetting that because I have Xfinity I think I get Peacock for free (at least the version with ads)

Anyway - quote from Nick Khan

Quote

Khan also said WWE is happy with their Fox deal with multiple years left, so nothing has changed there. He later told SBJ's John Ourand they are done doing deals in the U.S. "for a while" and that this is a multi-year deal that extends past their current TV contracts with NBCU and Fox. He said they spoke to several media companies about a deal but WWE's thirty-year relationship with NBC made a difference.

It really does come across as when they started looking to put the PPVs on another streaming service that they learned that places probably just wanted the whole thing

Several WWE news:

NXT is expected to stay on Wednesday and on USA network.

WWE expects record results for 2020.

Peacock/WWE network Amazon deal is still ongoing.

And ESPN is done with WWE.

Wrestlemania will indeed have fans.

Hideki Suzuki leaving Japan, could end up in Bloodsport or WWE.

Bloodsport? One show a year?

Are you saying the 24 hr GCW show at the weekend is having a Bloodsport section and he's coming over to work that?

You would think the stock would go up but since the stock market is bullshit who the fuck knows

I mean the stock is down 2% today alone

There was a flash crash at about 11am this morning that pulled down most of the market but then it started to recover as the day went on.  There's a lot of insane shit going on right now between market makers and Wall Street Bets, etc.

FWIW WWE Stock is up 14.27% on the year.

This is me. I'm not giving up my Premier League.

I just don't get how these fuckers continue to make so much money.

Has Peacock ever done any live streaming events? The Network at best can be iffy depending on what you use it on, so I'd be most concerned with whether they can handle streaming live PPV's.

Yes - Peacock streams the aforementioned EPL (English Premiere League) games

I also think they show (but am not sure) - NHL, NASCAR and even golf

I'm not saying the archives aren't coming with the Peacock version.  I'm just not expecting the archives to stay or for them to add more to it..

Didn't Peacock already pull down a huge chunk of the movies they had at launch or am I thinking of a different service?

This happens with every service depending on when their rights run out so it's probably something to do with that more than anything.

For those who have watched EPL on Peacock, how was the quality?   And do they show all the EPL games or just a select few?

It's hard to say these days, due to rescheduled games and changing thr TV window, but Peacock maybe had 4-6 out of the 10 matches per week. And every game is archived, even the ones originally on NBC or nbcsn.

I've never had issue with stream quality.

They also stream cycling, specifically the Tour de France and the Vuelta a Espana.

The streams are of good quality.

I'm guessing that, combined with the rumors that NBC thinks it's going to lose EPL rights and lose at least partial rights to NHL, they're being proactive about getting something that fits into that live sports (-ish) mode to drive subs. Honestly, as popular as EPL is in the U.S., I would guess that it still hasn't crossed the streams in viewership with a typical episode of RAW.
