Dolfan in NYC
Potential Super Bowl match up this week as KC goes to New Orleans. Thursday is the battle of LA, as the real Los Angeles team meets the fake one.

RIPPA
Seems more and more likely Louis Riddick will be SOMEONE's GM soon He interviews with the Texans today and Lions on Friday. (I believe he already met with the Falcons)

They always play a Saturday game starting the weekend before Christmas. Sometimes that is Week 15. Sometimes that is Week 16. Like I can find Saturday games Week 15 as early as 2004

Hail Sabin
That he was until that BAD pick but the Chargers missed the FG so they are still alive.
Dolfan in NYC
I still can't believe Gruden just tried a kick from 65. That being said, I have zero idea why football teams in general went away from having the back up QB (or a WR) be the holder.
Infinit
Raiders deserved to lose for not punching it in in OT. Another Mariota option run would've won it.

I think most teams went to having the punter be the holder so they just keep the specialists grouped together/don't take the backup qb away from watching the offense practice. That's exactly it. Using the punter is a much better use of practice time.
Kevin Wilson
I don't have an issue with the Raiders going for the FG since kickers now make them from 58 to 60 on a semi-regular basis so may as well go for it from 65. Plus I think Mariota has a noodle arm. But the execution was terrible so it was a moot point. I liked how the Chargers were going out of their way to lose the game but the Raiders stubbornly wouldn't let them.

RIPPA
Apparently in the 11 years since the rule change - the Chargers are only the 4th team to win an overtime game by scoring a TD after the other team kicked a FG
