Riley Pint, Colorado's 1st round pick in 2016 (4th overall), is retiring.

Incredible stuff in school and he got the yips as soon as he got to pro ball.

Second game of a DH between Brooklyn and Hudson Valley with the Renegades pulling off the feat.

Also of note was HV catcher Josh Breaux hit 3 homers in total tonight and two of them were among the longest I have ever seen at a minor league (See the light post to the left of the scoreboard? One of them hit off the top of one of those trees.).

Spokane had a contest last night where they'd give away 10k if an Indian hit a grand slam.

They hit two.

And Miami is hardly the only team doing this.  It's pretty much Baseball's open secret that MiLB players are treated like cattle.  But, ya know, the grind to The Show and bootstraps and all that.

It is absolutely ridiculous the conditions that the minor leaguers are put in.  You either gotta pay these guys more or provide them with housing.  I know some teams - like the Spokane Indians - put players with host families.  That has worked well at times but also led to all kinds of problems.

It's worth remembering we're talking about the same organization (MiLB) that won a lawsuit against their own players who were suing to be paid minimum wage.
