NFL 2020 - WEEK SIX

Marrone says that as long as he's the head coach, Todd Wash is safe. Well, that's fine and dandy. If the Khans weren't shithead grifters, they'd be putting Doug's head on a pike outside the stadium today along with Caldwell and Wash.

With all of the schedule changes in the last 2 weeks, the idea that we couldn't move ONE of them to a 4:00 PM time is baffling.  Especially when one of the TWO options available is a Jets game.  Seriously the Redzone Channel should have just replayed the 3:00 - 4:00 hour it was so awful.

Also why didn't the Packers put Jordan Love as the backup?

I'm glad that Deshaun signed that extension because woof this Texans team sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks without him.

Other than JJ Watt and Deshaun is there anyone on the Texans that anyone else would want on their team?

(Trading Watt is blasphemy.  I can't believe BOB hadn't done it before he got fired)

(Would anyone give a #1 for Watt? Asking for a friend).

Numbers don't lie!

This is funny, but it is also an indictment of Mitch's limitations as an NFL quarterback.  Most pick-6s are from a cornerback making a play on throws near the sideline.  These are the most difficult throws to make, and take the most arm strength to complete.  Rodgers makes those throws a lot, and he has supreme confidence in his arm, having 3 pick 6s in his career is actually a testament to how great he is at making those throws.  Defensive backs rarely try to jump those routes, because he has the arm strength to get the ball there on time.  Being able to throw those routes makes the field bigger and makes the defense defend from sideline to sideline.  Mitch isn't exactly noodle armed, but making sideline throws is a much riskier proposition.  On top of that, he doesn't play with the kind of confidence you need to consistently challenge the defense on sideline routes.  The biggest reason I wouldn't want Mitch to be my starting quarterback is that he often looks like the game is moving too fast for him.  If you have a quarterback with merely an above average arm, who is indecisive, and lacks confidence you don't expect him to throw to recievers who are running routes that take a strong arm and complete confidence to throw.  Sure, he's not throwing pick 6s, but he lowers the ceiling on the offense to the point that he's basically a 12th defender.

Tom Brady is a quarterback who still tries to make these throws, but his arm isn't what it used to be and people are taking them to the house.  With that said, him continuing to challenge the defense with those throws keeps the defense honest.  It's not good to throw pick 6s.  One pick 6 is a huge set back that can cost you a game, but lowering the ceiling on your offense can cost you a season.

The networks did everything they could to not have extra games in that slot, because Brady vs Rodgers was going to draw viewers. Fox intentionally cleared out the rest of their schedule so they could put it in every market. And CBS moved every game they could because they knew Fox would kill them in the late afternoon spot.

Should the NFL let the networks dictate the schedule like that, at the expense of Red Zone is the question.
