Looks a good show. The AEW Championship match as Jon Moxley defends against MJF is one of those where you can see a case for either winning like Jericho/Cody for the same title. Refreshing that.

Match I want to see the most by far is Kenny Omega/Adam Page vs. FTR for the AEW Tag Team Titles. On paper, a MOTY candidate.

Hopefully Chris Jericho redeems himself after his shitty performance in the second Orange Cassidy match. You know the Demo God's getting a dunking.

Hikaru Shida vs Thunder Rosa is the shining match-up on that card.  I could live with a Double Count-Out brawl to the back finish just to get a rematch.

I really hope that Mox fucking Gotch piledrivers MJF at least five times and at least once onto a steel chair or maybe through the announcer's table.

I am not really excited about the Mimosa Mayhem match because I feel that they could not possibly be dumb enough to book Orange Cassidy to lose, but we'll see.

I'd rather see the Brian Cage vs. Lance Archer match for the FTW title that they teased last night rather than the fucking battle royale.

What really strikes me looking at that card is how many of those wrestlers were either completely off my radar or at best "I think that name rings a bell..." to me just two years ago.

I mean, in August 2018:  MJF, Wardlow, Hikaru Shida, Adam Page, Orange Cassidy, Evil Uno, Stu Grayson,  QT Marshall, Allie... (and if we are including Casino Battle Royale and tag team gauntlet participants: Darby Allin, Brian Cage, Ricky Starks, Pentagon Jr., Rey Fenix, The Butcher, The Blade, Private Party, Jurassic Express...)

And now they are all wrestlers that I know, that I genuinely have opinions about! For the most part, they are wrestlers that I'm genuinely excited to see. About half of them rank highly on my "top currently active pro wrestlers" list.

I'm sure that people who are more into the American indie scene knew some of those names pretty well two years ago, but I'd be amazed if - even on these boards - there's anyone who had opinions about all of them as wrestlers back in August of 2018.

Good job, AEW, on building up a roster like that!

I feel like the play in the Women’s title match has to be Rosa winning, right?  Even if she just gets a short run, that would freshen up the division considerably for a while, as you could run back Nyla or Ford as a challenger for a minute before dropping it back to Shida or, maybe even better, let Britt cheat to win it when she’s ready to go again (which I think is supposed to be soon).  It’s not like the NWA has anything for her to do right now.

I'd be into a Thunder Rosa win, she's great and I'm enjoying the NWA involvement in the build. It gives the match a bigger feeling and it would put both titles over if Rosa gets a run with it.

FTR/Omega and Page should be fantastic. Could go any direction, really, even Shadow's prediction feels like it could happen. The talent involved means it could be a MOTY contender if they don't get too tricky with the booking. Something's gotta give though.

A little bummed the battle royal is taking up time I think could be better used. We'll get Allin/Starks eventually but it was one of the matches I was looking forward to for the PPV.

Honestly this is shaping up to be a pretty fun card. The Friends of Eddie Kingston vs the world in the battle royale will be neat. I expect MJF to channel a bit of the spirit of Larry Zbyszko in that main event and try to win through stalling and annoying the crowd, and he might just be the only guy in AEW who could make that really fun.

I'm fine with that if Archer wins it and gets to Stan Hansen the belt with an F150 while Jake laughs until his voice gives out.

I feel like FTR winning makes the most sense, so I'm somewhat nervous that it won't happen. Kenny's newfound mean streak combined with Page being pissed about being dumped by the Bucks will bring them closer together or some other such bullshit. The ideal finish in my head is the champs trying the Last Call, but Dax holds Kenny back, and Cash ducks so that Page lariats Kenny.  Page gets tossed to the floor and into the rail. Spike piledriver to Kenny. 1-2-3 new champions.

The winners of next week's Young Bucks/Jurassic Express vs. SCU/Private Party will face each other at All Out for a future tag title shot.

That brings the card to seven matches.

I wonder who is winning that Dynamite tag match... ? Jurassic Express/Bucks should be fun. They've only had the six man tag last month or whenever it was Kenny slapped around Marko. I could've sworn Bucks worked them earlier in the year before the pandemic but I guess not.

Agree with the general point, but already had become a big fan of Hangman Page after his IWGP U.S. title match against Jay White and then a really strong run in that year's G1. Not at his current star level by a long shot, but already well on his way to being a household name among wrestling fans.

They should run back Young Bucks vs. Private Party.  I was in attendance at the Boston show and it was very entertaining.

I touched on what @gordi was saying a couple weeks ago about AEW's roster and how Hunter has dropped the ball with some of these talents. Hunter might have a lot of the "now" performers and that's cool but AEW legitimately has the future of the business under contract.

Yeah, so far the only one I haven't bought was this year's Double or Nothing, but I was working weekends at the time and I wasn't too thrilled with spending $50 on a pandemic era PPV at the time. I regretted that decision when I finally watched some of the matches a few days later (especially Stadium Stampede). This time around I'm off on the weekends now and stuff like the Dark Order, Hangman/Omega/FTR/Bucks, Shida/Rosa, etc. is just TOO GOOD to pass up. Plus the Michael Jordan of wrestling figure collecting is wrestling on his first AEW PPV so I gotta see that live. And I do have a soft spot for QT, so..

I will say though, the absolute worst part about all of their PPVs is B/R Live. It still fucking sucks. The only workaround I've found for pausing or rewinding a PPV is streaming to my Chromecast from my computer. Not my phone, not my laptop, not any tablet, but my computer. And if I do want to pause or backtrack, I have to go to my computer to do it, which isn't a big deal, but damn, get your shit together B/R Live. My solution also isn't foolproof because there have been times where I've tried to unpause or rewind and it jumps to the live feed.

If it isn't that, then it's B/R Live not making the show available immediately after it's done. You always have to wait until the next morning. It's bullshit considering you're spending $50 on it.

Legit did not know this. Really glad you brought this up - I have a thing Saturday and had planned on buying/starting the show when I got home. Looks like I'll be waiting a day..

Yeah, I found this out the hard way last year for Double or Nothing. We had a slumber birthday party for my daughter the same day and so I tried watching on my phone in between my wife and me doing stuff with the girls. That proved damn near impossible. At that point I discovered I can't rewind on the phone app. So I try watching it on another TV that has a Roku and see you can't rewind there either. I figure I'll just watch the PPV around 11 or midnight when everyone has wound down only to discovered it's not available until 8 or 9 am.

I wound up downloading it off a torrent to still watch it. Hey, I already paid for it dammit.

They've never burned me on spending $50 for any of their PPVs and I don't think this will be any exception. Each has been in the top tier of PPVs that I've seen in a long time.

Agreed, I've ordered every PPV and have never had buyer's remorse, even with the occasional glitch.
