tbarrie
How hard would it be for Tony Khan to buy all of the Lucha Underground IP? Because count me among those who'd be stoked to see Mil Muertes in AEW, but less stoked at The Guy Who Played Mil Muertes.
odessasteps
As i said before, given that he is such a Mid South fsn, he should have bought the Watts library before Vince did. It was "only" $5m.
AxB
Watching the All Out replay on Youtube (the Buy In is just finishing). That Wardlow intro vignette of him beating up guys in a parking lot, Anna Jay is playing his girl friend and he's beating up Alan Angels, Lee Johnson and someone else I recognised but can't place.
Death From Above
As someone that came into AEW during the lockdown, it's so fucking weird seeing a stadium full of fans. Good weird though.
AxB
It's like being a foreign country, everything is familiar, but there's all these little differences. Like Jack Evans and Angelico not having a team name, and SCU doing their crowd interaction entrance like they haven't done since empty arena started.

LoneWolf&Subs
All those matches were way better on the re-watch. But JR is really not game with helping the commentary team.
Craig H
There are many spots with Darby that I say to myself, "that boy is going to cripple himself."

Casey
Real shit - that Women's Casino Battle Royal is ROUGH, but watching it back - man, AEW really fucked up when they passed or missed out on a lot of these ladies. Allin/Janela/Havoc is a car wreck match but I love it. Somehow it gets even better each time I watch it. Havoc is a piece of shit but I love his theme. I was never a fan of Riho, but her match against Hikaru Shida here was fucking awesome. I still think they should have went with Shida from the start. That's all I'm watching from the first part of the show, except for the official AEW debut of Orange Cassidy during Dark Order/Best Friends. That shit is crazy awesome. It makes me miss crowds even more than I normally do. Pac/Omega had a better match on Dynamite, with that 30 minute Iron Man match, and I don't want to watch SCU/JE at all.
Spontaneous
Missed out on All Out last year. Show was really fun but felt so odd as others have said watching this during the pandemic. Pac-Omega was okay. Looking forward to part II, I'd like to see Page-Jericho.
AxB
Joey Janela and especially Evil Uno have really gotten themselves in shape over the last year. I remembered Pac vs Omega for the finish, but I'd somehow forgotten what a great match it had been up until then. Shida vs Riho was interesting because on first viewing I took it as a Get Riho Over type of deal (after Fyter Fest 1 it looked like she was going to be the first top female star, which turned out to be true), but with Shida now the ace of AEW's women's division you could see it more as a big match between two stars. Goldenboy being on commentary instead of Schiavone threw me a bit. His voice is actually quite similar to Excalibur's, whereas the Excal/JR/Tony (and Taz and Veda) are all super distinct from one another. Poor Alex Marvez, if they'd stuck with him, he might have improved by now.

Death From Above
I saw an interview with Goldenboy not that long ago on Twitch with one of his old esports buddies, and his enthusiasm for working with AEW and JR was so real. He really does look up to JR as his commentary motivation so it was a huge deal for him. Pretty cool.

Not sure how long he's been doing it but I saw he's one of the commentators for Rock's show Titan Games. So between commentating with JR and working with Rock I would think Goldenboy's living his best life.
Craig H
Goldenboy has been doing Titan Games since the beginning. He does a pretty good job on it and I always thought he was good in AEW as well. Good voice, didn't fumble his words, etc.

Elsalvajeloco
FWIW MIA vs. IND GM 1 on Tuesday did 1.408 million on TNT on a Tuesday afternoon. Dynamite is following GM3 on Saturday. That's going to be their best lead in since...? Edited August 20, 2020 by Elsalvajeloco
Jiji
But Dave and others have long speculated wrestling fans don't do well with change (stupid?) and when shows get moved around or switch channels, there is almost always a significant drop. I wonder if it evens out, drops, or they hit that milly. TNT has also done quite well with getting the word out via their basketball announcers shilling during games. They are trying at least. We obviously get different commercials here in Canada, so I'm not sure they're also advertising it during commercial breaks. I don't expect AEW to keep the entire NBA audience, but if you lose 600k viewers and the NBA game averages 1.5 million, that's still 900k. If the lead in was random Warner Bros. or Marvel movie from five years ago like it always is, I would expect a lower than usual number. I mean Bryan makes it seem like AEW is always following Howard the Duck every week. The problem is TNT keeps replaying the same films that just came out and were summer blockbusters about four or five years ago. It's essentially non premium HBO. You don't have to watch because it's going to be shown again within the next two or three weeks. So to go from that to an NBA playoff game is a giant step up even against a Takeover.
