SirFozzie Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Not that he's really at fault for any of the goals, but I can see why Iran was trying so desperately to keep their first string goalkeeper in.
odessasteps Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Not even the world cup is safe from Swèet Caroline.
Marcel Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Even with Iran's GK1 out of the match, England has firepower to spare. Friday won't be easy. ......After going to Germany, South Africa, and Brazil, it feels really weird to not be at the World Cup supporting the US. But I was never going to Russia or Qatar. Yeah yeah, the team made not going to Russia an easy call but still. I know a lot of people who did go and man.....I'm pretty judgmental about anyone that made this trip. The sportswashing we've seen already makes the WWE Saudi Arabia shows seem tame. 1
The Natural Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 6-2 England. Concussion protocols are still hit and miss. Iran needed to take their goalkeeper off sooner, he lasted less than a minute after getting laid out a while.
odessasteps Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Grant Wahl said he was refused entry to the stadium while wearing a rainbow shirt.

Robert S Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 The attendance figures to the games are presented to you either by the Iraqi minister of information or a wrestling promotion. E.g. for Netherlands - Senegal: the capacity of the arena is 40.000, there were a lot of empty seats and the announced figure: 41.721 1
odessasteps Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 I joked yesterday that the attendance numbers were being done by people from the Emirates. I think attendance figures in sports have mostly been meaningless since they started counting tickets sold instead of turnstile attendance years ago in all sports.

cubbymark Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 (edited) GOL USA!!!! I have to watch on Peacock with Andres Cantor. So much better. Edited November 21, 2022 by cubbymark 2
BobbyWhioux Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 as soon as i think "oh, a goal kick, good time to take a piss"...
odessasteps Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Wales Def should have started the big man.
RIPPA Posted November 21, 2022 Author Posted November 21, 2022 The ref just making shit up as he goes along which seems quite fitting for a FIFA official 1
hammerva Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Nine minutes of extra time seems excessively high but I only watched about an hour ago
RIPPA Posted November 21, 2022 Author Posted November 21, 2022 At the rate things are going - its gonna be 30 minutes of extra time
Cobra Commander Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 while it's nice that the US/Wales referee had a cousin call in a favor from the Qatari government.. having every match add 10 minutes of stoppage time isn't exactly great action.
odessasteps Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 I can understand it when there are injury delays, like in the Iran match. Or with a ton of goals too.
RIPPA Posted November 21, 2022 Author Posted November 21, 2022 I am happy the cameras caught Bale and Acosta having a laugh over Acosta's very very very professional foul
odessasteps Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Listening to the BBC radio pop was funny. American players going down with cramp was time wasting. Wales players going down with cramp are tired legs.
Cobra Commander Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 the stoppage times so far Qatar/Ecuador: 5 minutes first half, 5 minutes second half (6 minutes each half) England/Iran: 14 fucking minutes first half, 10 minutes second half (second half ended at 90+14) Senegal/Netherlands: 2 minutes first half, 8 minutes second half (second half ended at 90+11) USA/Wales: 4 minutes first half, 9 minutes second half (second half ended at 90+11) So Friday's USA/England is when we find out how much of England/Iran was England being good, how much was Iran's team planning to mass-defect as soon as the tournament ends and how much was Iran's GK going out quickly today.
odessasteps Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Isn't there an unofficial rule of thumb about adding 30 seconds per goal and substitute? And I'm not going to complain about extra time added when you have head injuries.
