I'd want to watch Italy v Argentina if it weren't for the Scotland v Ukraine match.

Ukraine probably the better side so far, but could have also gotten a red card too.

I like that they're bringing back the Finalissima now that the Confederations Cup is no longer a thing.  But yeah, Scotland/Ukraine is more important.

Someone was talking today about the growing UEFA/Combedol relationship that will see South American teams playing in the Nation's League, I think in 24-25.

Also, Ukraine 1-0.

Ukraine looked tough against Scotland - they're a talented team in general, but they have to be playing with tons of emotion right now as well.

Super happy for Wales! No offense to Ukraine at all, but I was hoping for Scotland or Wales to get in just to see them in the tournament. Also excited that the U.S. gets to play Wales and England. We won't get out of the group, but whatever, it'll be fun.

Intercontinental playoffs started with Australia besting Peru in penalties. They'll join France, Denmark, and Tunisia in Group D.

Tomorrow, Costa Rica vs New Zealand to finally complete the field.

I heard it was only 42C there for the match today.

I wonder if it would have been as hot in Qatar as it was in some of the 94 US venues, where I recall it broke 100F in places like Dallas.

Someone pointed out that South Alabama was hotter than the equator yesterday.

I'm excited about getting to see a World Cup match in person off my bucket list. Granted, I hope the world has calmed down 4 years from now, but I'm not optimistic on that fact.

You also had Orlando, with 90 degree weather + 100% humidity + afternoon kickoffs for the European audience.
