JULY 2020 WRESTLING DISCUSSION

There was that dude who Bix was harassing relentlessly, because he found out the guy also posted on a rape fantasy board. Now how Bix discovered this, I don't know. Maybe he just cyberstalked everyone looking for dirt. But he would not let up on the guy. Even though the rapey guy made it clear he was in a monogamous marriage, and it was his wife who liked him to pretend to be some sex criminal, rather than him actually stalking around public parks looking for people to drag into the bushes or whatever. But anyway. The guy couldn't post anything in any forum without Bix calling him a pervert et cetera.

Reminds me of the guy who found out someone here was in a swingers club... and posted the photos to prove it. I mean don't get me wrong, that's some next-level sleuthing... but talk about shit I could've gone my whole life without seeing.

Pretty sure it’s women, bud. Cis, trans, or otherwise.

This is why we need a DVDVR census because I still don't know how many black people we have, and I've been here at least fifteen years now. There is myself, Burgundy, supremebve, MADCAP since we got into a huge argument one time about blackness/race, and I think Execproducer (who can correct me if I'm wrong). Obviously, J.T.. There has to be more. That's five at least or maybe six though. There isn't the same number of women?

FWIW I just joined this message board because at that time (It was around the time WCW was sold), I was signing up for ANY or EVERY pro wrestling message board (2Wrestling, 3Wrestling, Aaron Rift's The Mayhem before it became NoDQ.com, then there was the site whose namesake when to jail for messing with an underage girl and the same message board with the racist users/his ardent followers I mentioned in the trash thread, etc, etc.) even if they only had 12 registered users. I only remember a select number because I was pretty much a lurker everywhere including here up until 2007. Being poor and broke as shit, I didn't really have any stable internet connection and when I did, I had to share it with a bunch of other family members/roommates. Therefore, I pretty much missed the MNW from an IWC standpoint. So I had a renewed interest around 2001 when I could finally get on and browse. I created a list of my favorite websites and bookmarked them. My routine was I would visit them all in sequential order for all the latest news and then I would hit the message boards.

To my shock one day, on IIRC ProWrestlingScoops in like the summer of 2002 one Saturday night, I got my first real scare that I still remember vividly. That website for whatever reason was like one of the first three sites I would visit. However, I didn't know pro wrestling websites weren't very fucking secure (I was young so sue me). I get to the homepage of the website, and someone had hacked it with giant, huge pictures from LemonParty.org. The articles and stories (and I think the header) were still there, but the upper portion of the website with the main newstories had been hacked. I was only there for maybe 15 seconds but it seemed like an eternity. I didn't know anything about the shock site/memes so I was grossed out, disturbed, and dumbfounded. Man, I scrubbed my browser history, hit that Exit button on my browser, and didn't get back on the internet for about 24 hours.

Fortunately, I haven't had any experiences like that here even though the board cannot run smooth for three days at a time. ?? That's why I still come here.

Which is silly in hindsight, because the conversations in that forum were some of the best on the board. Nearly everyone was respectful.

There used to be a guy who posted a superhero comic in the Miscellaneous subforum. The lead character was named Carl, I think. I believe it was a L.A. Park who posted them? They were great, I miss them.

Agreed on the porn board. Also, fuck Bix because he's the only asshole to block me from pro wrestling, MMA, or boxing besides "Fat" Dan Rafael. I don't even ever remember tweeting at Dan Rafael so I'm sure he saw a tweet dissing him I liked or he did a Twitter vanity search, which is what another person (a low level UK female grime rapper of all people who had some notoriety then & now fell off the face of the planet so haha you clown) did with me (though she didn't actually block me IIRC) when I first joined Twitter. That's how I found out what a vanity search is. LOL. There are some sad people on social media, boy. Anyway, not a fan of pockmarked face, manchild David Bixenspan and his grating poindexter voice. In the time since, I've became glad I can no longer see the bullshit he puts out into the world.

Speaking of old forums, what happened to the fantasy wrestling board? Lack of participation? People no longer giving a shit about E-Feds? Too much work? All the boards I mentioned and didn't mention specifically above that I was a part of had one. I remember the one here and the one from The Mayhem because those were above and beyond the shit you use to see on ProBoards.

I searched online for puroresu and found the reviews and that was twenty GODdamn years ago or so... Wild...

I read them before anything and I might've even been in junior high/middle school back then, all because death match stuff was being reviewed.

Tangent note, but it is interesting to see how strong UFC engagement has been of late. One of the reasons levelled at declining ratings (at least in AEW context) has been lack of interest in fight-based programming while there's such an aggressive climate on our own streets. This kind of puts paid to that. More about how product is positioned.

I started lurking here in 2000 or 2001 when I was in high school, joined om 2002 for the first time but stopped around 05-06 because I just got bored with wrestling for a while, I think I joined again in 08 or 09 but I can't remember, maybe I just lurked again. Then I stopped watching except for the 'rumble and Mania until the Network started up and I joined again, got my account deleted by accident (had to email Rippa to get it reactivated) and I've been back since.

I used to post on the CRZ forms until I went to a different board with a splinter group but I stopped posting there around 05-06 too and never went back.

And despite, my avatar and location, mark me on the census as a black guy.

@Elsalvajeloco yeah e-feds are a pain in the ass to write matches for and if you have basically any real life responsibilities you don’t have enough time to put shows together with any regularity AND deal with people who get mad when they lose

so you need a lot of assistants, who also have their own booking ideas...

but for the couple months they last they’re pretty fun and I met some wonderfully strange people doing it (which ultimately led me here).

if some maniac actually tried to restart DVDVR the efed my fool ass would likely volunteer to assist them.

Bix blocked me solely because of something I said about him on here because I never said anything about him on Twitter and rarely get on Twitter.

Our shit was about Holly Holm because she was in a pay dispute (the first one before she got into UFC IIRC when they haggling over money, not the one from last year) at the time with Dana. That was an extremely weird hill to die on because it got solved rather quickly. I get some people absolutely loathe Dana, but these fighters aren't exactly represented by Drew Rosenhaus and the other mega agents like a Rich Paul now. OSJ can probably attest to this living in New Mexico and I can as a boxing fan...Lenny Fresquez is running tiny shows at casinos in Albuquerque. He ain't going to be the one to outsmart the UFC. Although one could argue she has had respectable paydays considering she was never the A side in any of her major fights. Like ever. Even when she was champion against Miesha on the McGregor/Diaz I card, she was on par with Miesha in terms of Q score after knocking out and being the first woman to defeat Ronda. That says a lot.

I remember on The Mayhem forum, some guy took the time to rebook the entire Invasion like at the tail end of it or just after it happened week-after-week writing out angles, storylines, and TV/PPV matches. And I was like.....these ideas are ACTUALLY good. That and e-feds were a big part of my online fandom.

Also, illegally downloading wrestling matches. Can't forget that.

I think the last time we did a headcount of women, we came up with only four or five.

I've been around here in some form for two decades, by the way. I've had long stretches of being a lurker, though.

I joined back before it was a message board, when it was just threaded posts that Rob Feinstein would spam incessantly.

That was my first iteration of the board,  too.  I'm pretty sure I was posting under my embarrassing teen AOL name back then.

Lol, I’ll pretend you said 18...with Perverted Justice camcorder footage of RF on the run...and Bob Barnett supplying footage of it with each purchase from his site.

Latina floppies and bacon strip.

Mark Henry, super-worker

When PRIDE event results were posted in the MMA forum.

The death of tape trading.

Pics of Scott Keith that surfaced online.

Being like the third or fourth to post in the Sleaze Thread.

....good times.

Since we're all being nostalgic, I joined back in '05 if I had to guess. I remember the sleaze thread but I remember at least lurking before then. I pretty much quit watching wrestling around the Benoit murders but have always kept up with WWE and wrestling in general on this board. I appreciate the dialogue everyone here has and have found fun matches to watch over the years as well as great movie recommendations and videogame chat.

I was on the old green board in the late 90s (same user name) but stopped watching wrestling in 2002/2003. Came back about a decade later and was lurking for a long time (plus I kept having trouble registering/logging in). Definitely enjoy this little corner of the net. ?

E-feds were great. Totally hear how stressful it would be to run. If I went back and read old promos it would probably be cringeworthy with bad grammar. But I had fun doing them and made a few Internet friends.

My character was Paper Bag Man. Former hand model who lived the life of luxury until a car accident disfigured his face. His hands were gorgeous but no one would hire a hand model with a burnt face. Shunned from society, he covered his face with a paper bag and thought of ways to make people’s faces as disfigured as his with his gorgeous hands. Gimmick change  after a yearish of that lead to him finding God and becoming Father Bag Man. Fizzled our from there. Somewhere between that was in a nWo ripoff faction called the Bully World Order who would bring out lockers to lock our enemies in and make fun of there shoes. Midcarder the entire time but had fun.

Hopefully Cena does what Taker did and get outside bookings and have Vince freak out and give him like $5 million for a single match

I want Cena or Roman to do an outside booking like a New Japan or a AAA big show like Hogan did in.93 when he did that Muta match and tried to work an angle with Inoki while he was there.

Jericho doesn't count because he was booked as a mid card during his last run before he started working NJ.

I could swear that Shayna brought Dakota to her parent's house for Thanksgiving because Dakota posted about how good it felt to be welcomed or something along those lines.

Whenever two people are pictured together.....  it's internet 101 to assume something is going on.  Any two people.

Yo @Smelly McUgly have you seen Trainwreck? Cuz what you described is pretty much his role in that movie just swap Topher Grace with Bill Hader and you got the movie.

Oh God no, I don't subject myself to Amy Schumer.

But that sounds like the perfect role for him.
