I need to get over my aversion to FPW because the workshop edit stuff just never works for me and start just making my own shit again like on GBA.  VIGO vs Brock Sampson.

 

After reinstalling I'm looking at some workshop shit and did they always have the "subscribe to all" parts option for wrestlers?  I remember going through and having to click 4 times on each item for these huge lists of custom parts.  I seriously don't remember it having that option.

Thanks to the glory of having a ROG Ally X (basically an ASUS Steam Deck), I finally got to play King of Coliseum 2 and Giant Gram 2000. Those are both fucking outstanding and I suck majorly at both. Too bad it's probably impossible to mod them to put them in English. I had to use a Gamefaqs guide like the good old days.

If anyone still plays WWE 2k23, the online servers for it will be shut down on January 6, 2025. 

 

The final DLC pack for 2k24 comes out tomorrow. the WCW pack featuring DDP, Lex Luger, Great Muta, Mr. Perfect, & Iron Sheik as well as the classic Fall Brawl arena.

From videos posted, sadly DDP does not have his music but rather the WWE Network dubbed music.  Muta does have his original late 80s NWA theme. Weirdly, Luger is 99-00 "The Total Package" heel version in his model and entrance but has the classic 96-98 theme music.

Muta also has an unannounced alternate skin included with full black facepaint and white Kanji written on it. Not exactly NWO Muta but neat to have as an alternative

Yeah, the mixed presentation for Luger is weird. I really wanted the entrance with the flex at the entrance with the flame pyro with the Nitro set to bring back the nostalgia. Might play around with it a bit or wait until someone on CC does it.

DDP's new Diamond Cutter animation is terrible. Kick to the gut (!), stalls, grabs the head, does a shitty jumping RKO without the knuckles locked. The least outta nowhere thing ever. The standing cutter that was already in the game looks way more like his version.

It also needed a pin combo where he pops up to his knees doing a "bang"  pose, then waddles over to them on his knees and does a casual pin

Weirdly, they added the Flashing Elbow but don't seem to have assigned it to Muta: it's not a Signature or Finisher and his running drop attacks are all the same leg drop.

Sorry for the double post, but man. I know Iron Sheik was famous in the last 15 years of his life mostly for saying deranged shit in interviews and on Twitter, but I really would have preferred not to have rape jokes in my wrestling game. (Corey seems absolutely delighted to yell "it's time to MAAAKE HIIIIM HUMBLE!" when Sheik goes for the Camel Clutch and there are "break his back and make him humble" signs in the crowd anytime he's in a match)

I'm incredibly thankful for how easy it is to nail the timing on reversing Savage's Big Elbow.

I did the live event to get the Savage you can upgrade him a couple of times and spent my Sunday and a very slow work Monday doing that. Granted it's glitched and some of the items you could only upgrade in certain modes in MyFaction, shout out to the subreddit for figuring that out.

I've also unlocked all of the bosses in FactionWars now so if I need to just get some cards to get to the next level that's an avenue.

And I got some of the Wolfpack cards and actually hit on the Henning, Luger and Nash which was pretty good. I tried the Henning live event to get the 99 Muta and that's going to be hard. I'm working on the Luger submission match one with my Luger so that's been easy since they're the same card. 

And some of those Stratton events are stupid hard and not fun so I'm trying those.

And my weekend project is to figure out what created wrestlers I downloaded had the hair glitch and clean up my roster and give Universe Mode a go.

I went 4 for 4 on Hennig vs Hall, I just loaded him up with buffs (+Special, +Finisher, and +tech submission.) I'm really bad about forgetting to use those, so I had plenty to just throw at all 3 of the Wolfpac challenges.

Something i didn't notice til today: the most recent version of the "Slim Jim Stomp-Out" event, which drops a persona card for Savage in his pre-NWO commercial gear, does NOT require you to use LA Knight like the previous times it was offered. I butchered AJ with Muta and got the unlock.

Yeah I loaded him up too and it took me 6 tries so it wasn't too bad. Boy do I hate the requirements for Technicians though. Working the arms and or legs when that wrestler doesn't have a submission around either one of those is just silly.

RNJesus was looking down on me today I guess. Used that code to buy a regular Wolfpac card pack, which yielded a Hogan which I already had which gave me enough MF point to buy a deluxe Wolfpac set which yielded me the Nash card which completed the collection for me so I got the Galaxy Opal Hall card. I'd like to get the Steiner and Macho cards but I'm probably pressing my luck at this point.

I started doing a WCW 1997 Universe mode now that the DLC's out, and got it booking decent cards.

Had a hilarious AI sim between pre-Flock jobber Kidman and the much higher rated Ultimo Dragon on WCWSN where Kidman threw Ultimo out, beat him pillar to post around ringside hitting three dives, loads of grapples, splatted him into the ringpost and steps three times, then got him back in the ring, completely ate canvas on the SSP, so Ultimo gets 2.9 off a running Liger bomb and immediately puts him on the top rope and hits an avalanche powerbomb for 3. Two moves.

Also had the Disco Inferno pin an Arn Anderson who had gone completely hairless and bald as a result of the recent patch affecting CAW hair. Fantasy booking the Depressed Twink Arn Downward Spiral angle in my head right now.

New Live Event is a 2v2 ladder match vs Opal Rhea and Bianca with no card restrictions and a 60 point minimum. Blew thru it in under 5 minutes per run, 4 for 4. Top prize is an Opal Nikita Lyons card, which of all the women to drop an all-99s card for...

Opal? I thought it was a pink diamond, still applies though. But she might be getting a push soon and I always wonder if the cards are related to that stuff.

You are correct; it showed as Opal before the event went live but was a 98 OVR pink when the match became available. And as for her getting a fresh push, I know the loyal perverts of Orlando love her, but I just don't get it.
