Combination of reasons.. good game unlike the super buggy flop like WWE2K20. Other WWE metrics combined are up or ok even if RAW has sinked down. AEW existing and their fans use the game to make AEW Caws and other AEW stuff. A real WWE game to buy after few years of none. The new stuff in the new game, etc etc.

In other news, the AEW game targeted release date is September 2022.

Feels too soon for the AEW game just knowing how hard it is to build a game from scratch and that wrestling physics aren't easy. Hope they are smart enough to delay it if necessary. Although to be fair this is just a 'rumor' so they may have not announced it themselves yet to give them some flexibility.

SRS is pretty on point usually with things he reports, though.

I’m okay with a bare bones game as long as it has more than just an exhibition mode. I don’t need a booking sim mode or anything, just give me some kind of season/career and the GaaS type DLC they talked about and I’m perfectly good.

I don't think SRS is making it up, I just mean its probably in really light pencil as if they were confident in the date they'd have probably already announced it since that's not far away. So I'm just guessing its only a tentative internal goal at the moment.

The All Elite Wrestling video game could be coming way sooner than expected.

Fightful Select has learned that as of this week, there was a tentative internal release date for late September for AEW's upcoming console video game. We were told that there was plenty of work to be done then, but that the plan has long been for the game to release this year, and that September is widely regarded as the target as of now.

Fightful reported earlier this year that a story mode would be involved, and that there was a deadline for certain music to be involved in the game. We first got word that the release date could be coming sooner than later when AEW talent indicated that they may have arrived in the company too late to be included in the first run of the game.

It was stressed to us that this is a tentative release date and there's a publisher involved, though not officially announced. We're told to expect that fairly soon if all goes well, but a lot of things could change between now and the tentative release date.

For as little we've seen and how janky some of what we've seen looked, I'm scared about a September release and hope they delay if it isn't up to snuff. Making a bad first impression is brutal and almost impossible to come back from. Once people think your game is a joke you're never going to win back the majority I feel. Plenty of examples of that happening recently. There is a story mode though, so maybe Teddy Long gets hit by a car again.

My first copy accidentally got sold with my N64 lot years ago and I'm just shocked to find a physical copy TWICE OF such a rare game in North America...

I'll admit that as much as I didn't want to get 2K22 I can't help but like it.  Gameplay took a bit of getting used to but after that it was fine.  I never messed with stuff like MyRise but it's honestly not too bad.  Though I'm stuck on having win MitB and I fucking hate playing this match.  I'll try again later on but at worst there's other stuff to get into.  I'm also hoping that the patch will fix CAWs not looking that good as even the best ones seem off to me.
