RIPPA Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I'm taking my son out to a neighborhood Truck or Treat. I expect to be sad when I get home
BobbyWhioux Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 This week's Raiders-Steelers game will be interesting because I'm sure Terrelle Pryor will be pumped up to have a monster game against the Steelers what with them being his hometown team. He was a Pittsburgh high school sports legend, winning state player of the year twice and leading his school to state championships in both football and basketball. He'd be fun to root for if he also wasn't such a legendary prick: He's literally the the real life Voodoo Tatum.* *Yes, I like to compare NFL players to characters from Friday Night Lights. Andrew Luck is totally Jason Street if Street never got paralyzed. Russell Wilson = Vince Howard. And Riggins has to be Rob Gronkowski. Also, since clinging to a growing-ever-distant glorious past is a central tenet of the Raider fan experience, you know the Coliseum crowd is gonna have flashbacks and be even more firely than usual at first sight of the Steeler road whites. And for what it's worth Raider players still seem to know enough to "get up" for Steeler games even though they weren't even born yet when this match up was/became important.
Ryan Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 A sizeable portion wasn't even alive the last time they won the Super Bowl in 1984. That's depressing for a whole list of reasons.
BobbyWhioux Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Also the 49ers started their opening drive with the same roll out sideline pass to the fullback that they literally run at least once in every game this season and has essentially been in the 49er playbook since Bill Walsh's first season. It's a basic west coast offense play with a Best Case Scenario of about 15 yards of catch-and-run. The Jaguars gave up 43 yards on it and didn't even have a defender on that side of the field, and literally any other eligible ballcarrier on the 49er roster would've had an 80 yard touchdown. We all know the Jags are the worst team in the league but we kinda have an actual unit of measure to quantify how much worse they are than everyone else now.
Raziel Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Megatron gets 87 yards and *almost* beats 4 Cowboy defenders for the last 3. EDIT: Course, the Lions procede to do nothing with it and have to kick a FG.
Death From Above Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Dolphins have absolutely handled the Patriots to this point. Very impressive thus far.
hammerva Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Nobody can kick a field goal in the Saints/Bills game.
JRGoldman Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I can't wait for Eagles fans calling in today and tomorrow all saying some variation of "Say what you want about Andy, but he always played the Giants tough and was a winner. Kelly doesn't understand Eagles football".
Ryan Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 How long before they clamor for the return of Donovan McNabb?
Raziel Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Something I never thought I'd say this year.. The Eagles Defense is keeping them in this game, in spite of how shitty the offense is playing.
Niners Fan in CT Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Bills...somehow... are right in this game.
Niners Fan in CT Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 21-0 early in the second quarter. If the lead holds up.. I'd like to see the backups as soon as possible. This does not look like a safe playing field.
Death From Above Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Cam Newton currently has more fantasy points by himself than the 6 people and D I started that are already playing put together. Oh my.
Ryan Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I think the point spread was conservative in the 9ers/Hogwartz game
Death From Above Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Tom Brady at the half: 25 pass yards, and an interception.
Ryan Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 BARKLEY'D~! The road to 10-6 through attrition and nothing but field goals continues.
JRGoldman Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Barkley looked good until he thought he was Mike Vick and got stripped trying to scramble behind the line of scrimmage. In the red zone. With under a minute to go in the half.
RIPPA Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 So apparently all I have missed is field goals. Lots and lots of Field Goals
