Burgundy LaRue Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I saw where USC will lose more schollys in 2014 (10) than Miami will over the course of this punishment. All things, considered, it's not too bad.

muhammedboehm Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 So what we have learned today from The U. Self impose and work with the NCAA and you can get away with murder.
Dolfan in NYC Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 So what we have learned today from The U. Self impose and work with the NCAA and you can get away with murder. "Work with the NCAA"? What Miami did was pretty much the exact opposite of that. The NCAA fucked themselves over hard because they: a) believed a convicted felon who thought he was bigger than he was coerced, cajoled, and threatened witnesses c) bribed informants for information that was unreliable/unprovable/flat out bogus d) GOT CAUGHT DOING EVERYTHING ABOVE e) lied about doing everything above f) extended an investigation that should have been over in 9 months to 2+ years, hurting recruiting g) wrote a letter to the judge in Shapiro's case asking for a lighter sentence (or time served) so they could continue using him as an informant. Please explain how any of the above is false and/or worse than anything done by any player in a Miami uniform?
Burgundy LaRue Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 What Miami did that was right was not get in the way of anything the NCAA was doing with the investigation. (not that there was anything to protest because the investigation was so slow, I'm just talking in general) USC appealed their demise, which I don't fault them for, but the NCAA wasn't going to go easy on them after they spent two years loading up on talent. Sometimes, just sitting still keeps you alive.
Josh Mann Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I would have liked the probation time to have been retrodated but it could have been worse on the whole.
Dolfan in NYC Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 Tim Reynolds ✔ @ByTimReynolds From what I've seen, Miami went to 7-0 today. 9:33 AM - 22 Oct 2013
cwoy2j Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Good to see a couple of other Canes fans here. I thought I'd be the only one. I graduated from there in 2001.

Dolfan in NYC Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 The new college bowl game that will be played in Marlins Park will be called the "Miami Beach Bowl". Miami Beach is about a half-hour drive away from Marlins Park. This name is stupid.
Death From Above Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 As long as it's not the Helluva Good! Sour Cream Dips Chick-Fil-A Best Buy Tositos Fiesta Chevrolet Bowl, I consider it automatically in the top tier now.
