Kuetsar
please: Well he didn't exactly have the best World Series record, 3-3 being swept twice. . .
Ryan
Woody Paige seems to think the Cardies are going to win, so they're likely fucked.
JRGoldman
I am trying very hard not to be a laughing hyena douche about the results of game one but HA!Nice of the Cards to give us free looks at Mainess and Martinez (ED note: not impressed so far) in a meaningless game.It occurs to me that the AL is exponentially better than the NL, and it is up to the TRUE GUARDIANS OF WALL BANGING BASEBALL PLAYED THE RIGHT WAY the Red Sox to step back in and defend it. We can't depend on losers like the Tigers and Rangers to defend the vanguard of AMERICAN LEAGUE BRAND BASEBALL.Seriously, the Sox have 4 players not ON THEIR ACTIVE ROSTER (Bradley, Lavarnway, Snyder, Holt) who would be the best bench bat in AL parks for the Cards.Wacha and all the A+ young bullpen arms are the big edge the Cards have, and I think it's a castle made a graham crackers. The Sox's World Series was surviving that Tigers' rotation. I was scared heading in, but facing Kelly and Lynn, and having a good shot at bringing Wacha back to earth, makes me feel good about their chances. We start guys decent enough to win in the AL. We will carve up Lesser Circuit lineups.OK, I'm still ready for everything to go wrong. This just oozes douchiness, and sadly was no different than the majority of my Facebook feed. Patrick B.
They can either, I don't know, PLAY BETTER and get back in the Series or they can sit and whine like too many of their fans and get swept, AGAIN. It's up to them.
muhammedboehm
Why the fuck is a Yankee throwing out the first pitch at Fenway for a World Serices game?
SirFozzie
Wow. Ortiz is.... He's the closest modern thing to argue that there's such a thing as being clutch. Nice to see him get hot at the absolute best possible time. And Lackey's earning his salary Great Pitchers game

Death From Above
Why is Martinez allowed to balk on every single pitch? Like I said, I really don't understand this rule.
Kuetsar
IF the Red sox win it in the bottom of the 9th, break out the brooms, however its far more likely to go six or seven anyway, and the sox will pick up at least one in St Louis. . . . pipGofern
The Cardinals seriously must have some tree where they grow guys with 95 MPH fastballs. Good grief it's one after the other. Nice to know Wacha is human after all, though. Off-topic: Did I hear Buck say Pearl Jam's new single "Animal?" Wasn't that on Vs back in like 1994? Hoffman
Last night all the haters thought the Red Sox were taking out the trash. Tonight, our Guardians took out the guys who took out the trash. Also, bloop singles? Double steals? Sacrifice flies? Overall pluckiness? Yep, Whiteyball triumphs over all.

Considering the Red Sox are throwing Peavy who's highly overrated and Buchholz who's damaged goods, they're still very winnable games for the Redbirds. Matt D
I have to admit. It's some awesome goofy sports fun when the AL team ends up in the NL stadium late in a game like this.
