I think he's trying to turn the "push" thing into a Prichard-style running gag.

Prichard is often full of shit, but at least he's funny sometimes.

JR I actually expect to tell something resembling the truth, but I don't need running gags from him.

I did not know that Ross and Bob Barnett knew each other.

Did Barnett try to sell J.R. some lucha tapes with Vampiro?

Did he call konnan konehead?

Interesting Jericho pod with shazza Mckenzie who flew to us for mania and has been stuck in quarantine in her house for the past 7 days following her having all her bookings canceled.

A Conman Thompson podcast featuring an overdone, unfunny running gag that is run into the ground in two episodes but keeps going forever?  Say it ain't so.

Eric Shorey (AKA DJ Accident Report) did an article on the 20 Best Wrestling Podcasts here:

https://www.one37pm.com/strength/sports/best-wrestling-postcasts

#1 (Marty and Sarah Love Wrestling) is one of my favorites.  It's definitely a different podcast and doesn't get much love around here, but it's really fun and positive.  A nice end-week palate cleanser, especially after listening to Dave talk coronavirus all week ?

I had a lot of time last weekend to listen to some podcasts, since I was working by myself for three days and despite my job being "essential", I'm the only one there (since the rest of the plant is furloughed).

Anyway - listened to quite a few Talk Is Jericho episodes, namely the ones with Brodie Lee, Shazza McKenzie, Luchasaurus and Excalibur. I think out of those, I enjoyed the Shazza and Brodie ones the most, but they were all very interesting. I feel horrible for Shazza right now, though. She spent tons of money and planned a whole tour around WrestleMania weekend, and all she got out of it was, I believe, two shows and then she had to go home to Australia and go into a 14 day quarantine immediately.

I listened to one episode of What Happened When, and uh, holy shit, Tony is not what I imagined him to be like. Between talking about his hard-on for Francine, and cursing up a storm... I'm shocked, but in the episode after the Dynamite debut episode was really heartwarming since you can tell he hated wrestling for awhile and Conrad kind of brought him back into it, and then came the MLW gig, then AEW. If they did more stuff I was familiar with, I'd listen more. But I only know late stage WCW, not the events they're covering. Which leads me to...

Grillin' JR. Which I really, really enjoy. I've only listened to the CM Punk and Over The Edge 1999 episodes so far (listening to WrestleMania 2000 right now, actually). The Owen episode was really fucking sad. Conrad reading the events of Owen falling to his death were very chilling and disturbing. Punk episode is nothing I haven't heard before, honestly. But he's one of my favorite North American wrestlers, so of course I listened.

And then I checked out the Taz episode of AEW Unrestricted, and again, nothing I didn't know about going into it. It's really fucking weird hearing Aubrey and Tony talk about shaving their privates while shilling some kind of hair trimmer or whatever, though.

Lastly - the New Day podcast. Dragonball Z is not the best show ever, get the fuck out of here. But I'm not shocked that anime dorks Xavier and Kofi willed that into existence. Poor Big E, he was holding the flag for Curb, but it wasn't meant to be. The episode where they talk about WrestleMania moments was okay, the only thing I remember was that Big E was apparently in a super religious family, couldn't listen to rap, and barely got to watch RAW or Nitro back then - much less watch a WrestleMania. Funny note - all 3 of them hate the match they had against the League of Nations and then getting beat up by Austin, HBK and Foley. Like, really hate it.

David Starr on Ryback's podcast:

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/conversation-with-the-big-guy-ryback/id1148439276#episodeGuid=ebe7d004-7f96-11ea-8dfb-a3b1f9dbbd3d

Ryback claims that when he was on top in WWE and showing up to arena hours early to sign sheets and sheets of photographs with Cena, the WWE was bulk buying those photos for a couple of cents each, selling them for $20 each, and kicking back $0.83 per photo to the talent.

FYI, Dean Malenko is on the newest AEW Unrestricted episode.

I've heard many times about Dean being pretty damn funny.  At first it took a bit to get into his style of humor but as it went on it was apparent why people feel that way about him.  Also neat hearing about his background and he seems like a pretty darn nice guy.
