If it were up to me, I would dissolve the Nightmare Collective into the Dark Order with Brandi either going back to being Cody's valet or not being on screen at all.

Highly unlikely. Her husband is the EVP who gets the biggest, showiest entrance every show. Drawing baseless conclusions from that, if they share any values about this business, she isn't shying away from the spotlight.

1000% agree.

I'm very pro AEW... but this gimmick is getting worse as time passes, not better. It ruined a perfectly good match with two legitimately over wrestlers. And it made both of them less over as the segment played out. Statlander having to dive half speed and walk into clotheslines for Kong was rough. Hey I'm not shit talking Kong. She was great when she was great. But everyone's body ages and breaks down at a different rate of speed. Unfortunately her body gave up on her. She still has a ton of knowledge and can contribute. But her days of being an on air character should be over. Riho got booed out of the building when it looked like she was going to go for the double stomp after the interference. Luckily she got the dive in and got them back. But man, could you have imagined a scenario where Riho was booed like that?

Merging them with the Dark Order is a great idea. Merge them. Keep Melanie Cruz in the gimmick. Keep Kong as her heater. Get Brandy away from this stuff. And send Dr Luther back to wherever the fuck he came from lol. Straight up the Nightmare Collective is the Female Dungeon of Doom. Irredeemable campy horse shit. At least The Dungeon had Meng ripping out  dudes' throats.

Honestly, I'd be happier if he gave it to someone down on their luck...but to each his own.

I hear Shooter Umino needs a new car.

or we stick with the hobo, clown car

I would just put a mask on Dr. Luther and make him a nameless, faceless creeper. Let him take losses instead of Uno or Grayson.

I liked tonight's show but it helps that I had it on DVR and was able to fast-forward through stuff I don't want to see.  Daniels is an instant fast-forward for me at this point in his career. He's so lame in this role.

Anything with Brandi and co. is going to be fast-forward status too.  I can't do it.  I too just wanted to watch Riho vs. Kris and we didn't get that.

I loved everything else. The final segment with Jericho and Mox was great and the segment with MJF/DDP was hilarious.

Lucha Bros. vs. Rhodes brothers was good but could have been better.  I enjoyed Private Party vs. Omega and Hangman.   Looks like we could be setting up for Omega vs. Hangman at the PPV.

His body is probably as broken down as Kong's at this point.

This is the correct answer.

And if he's nameless and faceless, why would we need him in that spot? Keep that spot for extras trying to get noticed instead of paying whatever expense a 60 year old dude who had his run 30+ years ago would cost vs a local indy worker.

Or when you merge the two groups, run an angle where Luther tries to take Uno's spot as the mouthpiece over time. Eventually he gets caught and someone rips his throat out. Bonus points if they bring Meng in for that lol.

I don't know what Luther's promos sound like (if his voice has been on Dynamite, it was probably a segment I skipped), so why not? It'd be a lateral move at worst.

I'm looking at the nightmare collective thing purely from a storytelling point of view. Its terrible. It ruined what should have been a great match with Riho and Kris Statlander. Plus the whole thing with Dr. Luther was dumb. Once again Excaliber was all OH IT'S LUTHER like again we were supposed to know that. The only reason I sort of remembered the name was because I used to played EWR and Promotion Wars in the early 2000's.

You know now that I think about it, AEW is being booked like it's being run on EWR.

Y’know, I’d be fine with three heel stables running around if the babyfaces had more than just The Elite.

I mean the crowd loves the Lucha Bros... and the Lucha Bros wrestle as babyfaces... but they are heels because reasons.

They are heels because of their actions outside of the ring. And I don’t know what this has to do with anything, since the two people don’t make a stable/group.

There's SCU, Jurassic Express, and the Freshly Squeezed Best Friends on the face side.

I'd still consider those just trios, though. You've got tag teams, trios and then stables.

I guess the trios work as stables, but I'm mainly talking about bigger factions. Nightmare Collective is 4 (right now), Dark Order is 4 (with your random creepers), Inner Circle is 5, Elite is 4 or 5 depending on whether or not Hangman is still with them...

Yeah this was the weakest episode with the worst crowd. The title match people have been looking forward too, that got delayed a week for unusual reasons, had a heel commentator, a commercial break, and way too many shenanigans. Everything after the match was fine, but that was certainly the opposite of a sports like presentation (I know, I know).

I thought it was lame last week when Moxley was to announce his answer and said “I’ll say it next week instead” and then we got the same thing with Cody this week.

I really enjoyed the 6 man. I was ready to like it from the start but it got really entertaining halfway through.

The last segment was entertaining. It did seem like they were stalling at the end, but they are entertaining so it wasn’t bad at all.

I actually feel somewhat embarrassed for CD when I watch Daniels come out and dance and pose with his microphone.  It reminds me of this guy

Because he's one of Jericho's best friends.  Between the Bucks' friend (the bald guy who always loses...I can't remember his name), QT Marshall and Luther, there's a certain level of cronyism pervading the early days of AEW.

I wasn't as down on the show as much as you guys.  Agreed on the Nightmare Collective (is that their name?) stuff cutting short a pretty hot match and being kinda lousy, but I wasn't as down on the match as most of you, probably because I'm not as high on Statlander as most of you, so I was happy to see the title stay with Riho.  But I thought the Dark Order stuff was perfectly fine (Though I agree that the Lucha Bros...Mexi-kings...cero miedo...meet us in the ring...didn't need to be involved).  Also why was Sonny Kiss out there at the end?  He's not part of the women's division, so it was weird; I think it's probably just an awkward way to have him eventually team with Statlander et al. as the counterpart male wrestler to face Luther, but it was weird and unexplained.

Loved the 6 man.  I actually think it should have gone way longer.  Same with Rhodes-Lucha Bros...Mexi-kings...cero miedo...meet us in the ring.

I did NOT care for the main event reveal.  It should have gone one of two ways: Moxley comes to the ring, contemplates the offer, DDTs Jericho and leaves without a word; or Moxley agreeing to join, dragging it out for a week or two before he turns.  Doing it the way they did made the audience think he was just screwing with Jericho, gradually believing he had aligned with him, then not sure if he was just kidding or not when he ultimately turned them down.  It should have been one of the biggest pops in the company history, and instead it just kind of fizzled out.

The cronyism extends way beyond just QT, Cutler and Dr. Luther though. You can't bring up the "bad" workers and not bring up the fact that people like Best Friends or Hikaru Shida were signed because of their connections to one or more of the EVPs.

And for the most part, it's been fine. They hire their friends (or people that obviously should be signed somewhere, like Statlander). It's worked out pretty well for them so far, and we're all pretty much judging the Luther stuff right from his first appearance (not counting the pretape video). I'm, like.... 95% sure he's hardly going to be used, and when he is, it's not going to be anything beyond jobber status. Melanie Cruise is likely to get a push out of this, though. That's really the only reason I'm here for the Nightmare Collective stuff.

The batting average of the cronyism stuff is a lot better than people like to make it out to be. You can look at AEW's roster and pretty much all of them have some kind of connection to Omega, Cody or the Bucks.

(Sidenote: Apparently a rookie Emi Sakura was a ringside attendant for FMW/IWA and escorted Dr. Luther & Freddy Krueger to the ring)

Awkward.

I think you're mistaking Sonny Kiss for Big Swole. I know I saw Big Swole out there. I don't remember seeing Sonny Kiss involved.
