I hate the 3rd act of Minority Report, but his heel turn was fun in it.

RIP

I was also going to say I loved him in Mighty Ducks as well, but that’s Jon Ackland(Bogus Journey). Then I was going to say D2: The Mighty Ducks, but that’s Jan Rubes. So he had to have been the old guy in D3, right? No that was Jon Auckland again.

Too soon?

No, not too soon.  That was like the first thing I thought of when I heard he'd passed away.

Given the question of whether or not there is an afterlife, I wish the .gif file had included:

I'm glad King Osric got brought up. His lines in that were so powerful, and the image of him throwing the dagger is some straight up Frazetta shit. He might've thought he was slumming by doing that role but he gave it total gravitas.

Surprised we've got this far without anyone bringing up Father Merrin. The first thing I thought was "The power of Christ compels you!"

I was getting around to Father Merrin when I discovered that the devil kid has most of the interesting dialogue in those exchanges.  Osric's monologue is far more profound than any of Merrin's dialogue but if you want a guy to carry a scene with the sound of his voice, you either hired James Earl Jones or Max Von Sydow.

Terrence McNally, author of Kiss of the Spider WomanLove! Valour! Compassion!, and many, many other award winning Broadway shows and several movies has died from complications from COVID-19.  His voice was instrumental in writing stories about LGBT domestic life and was by all accounts, one of the kindest people in theater.

He was 81.

Man, that’s sucks. What a cool eclectic  career; for the longest time when I saw his name I just thought about the Lovecraft movies, and it wasn’t until way after I saw them that I learned about his huge theater career that included getting Mamet established, and also that he co-created Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

A dark horse favorite of mine is his adaptation of the Bradbury story The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit, with Edward James Olmos and Joe Mantegna. It’s a sweet and funny fantasy movie, and also part of that great sub genre, Movies My Mom Wouldn’t Let Me Rent on PPV Because the Title Sounded Like Porn.

RIP Stuart Gordon.

One of the few guys that could carve through Lovecraft's pseudo-intellectual malarkey and get to the nitty gritty of the horror story encapsulated within..

RIP to a horror great.

IMDb tells me he was on an episode of Superboy in the 1990s.

What's funny is they list him as playing himself on the Love Boat and Gilligans Island.

And while he wasnt an actor on this (only Meadowlark was), still one of my favorite HB opens.

I was going to post this in the General RIP thread but totally forgot about the awesomeness of the Harlem Globetrotters Popcorn Machine that came on CBS on Saturday mornings.

Here are the Harlem Globetrotters with Honorary Globetrotter Goldie Hawn dressed in tiny pants.

This was on a kids show.

Let the Brazzers jokes commence.
