Ok, fair enough. At least this mutually toxic relationship came to end.

Seems odd since Tessa's last appearance back in April, was doing a facetime interview with Josh Mathews which presumably now they just wanted something similar to that.

Really enjoyed Elgin's one year run here in Impact, great match after great match. Sad that he had to go.

I had not heard til now that WOW is done on AXS, that sucks, I loved that show. Tessa's run there was excellent and really added to her 2019 run as one of the best around.

Have they actually FIRED Elgin? I know they said he won't be appearing in any future Impacts, they've pulled him from the website, etc but have they actually come out and said that he's gone like they did with Ryan and Crist?

Elgin put out a statement thanking Impact etc etc and talking about the bright side of having more time for his son now, fwiw

It just seems odd to me that Ryan and Crist were dropped right away with nothing more than a kick in the ass on the way out the door (deservedly so) and almost immediately Impact announces that they've been fired. With Elgin it's like everyone is going out of their way to avoid saying he's fired and/or that he will not be coming back to the company at all. Almost feels like they're hoping if they wait a few months this will all blow over and they can bring him back

Originally Elgin was suspended pending further investigation or something, so he wasn't immediately let go like Ryan & Crist. But after today's statement about removing him from programming, they also took him off the roster page and took down all his merch from the shop. Elgin did say in his statement that he hopes things can be sorted out in time.

I assume this all leads to Rack Zyder, Impact! Champion!

If I can wildly speculate, I'd imagine Impact management would have tried to resign Tessa around the time of Rebellion and if they couldn't reach an agreement, maybe have her drop the belt then? But we got COVID instead and everything got put on hold. Then you get to Tessa's contract getting close to expiring, so she didn't bother to do the video promos and wasn't coming to the country to risk exposure to drop the belt and you get where we are now.

I'd assume that they put the belt on Eddie and run an Ace Austin feud again but without Alisha getting hit on. Or pull the OG TNA move and have someone from WWE debut and win the belt.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have reportedly signed with Impact Wrestling.

It was reported earlier today, via Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda, that is was "pretty much a done deal" but now Cassidy reports that they have signed. The former RAW Tag Team Champions will debut in July, either at the Slammiversary pay-per-view on July 18, or shortly after. Their 90-day non-compete clauses with WWE will expire on July 15.

They’ve been teasing the return of the Aces & 8’s on TV lately. I think Anderson and Gsllows are coming in as members of the Aces and 8’s.

If the stories from former Impact ref Kris Levin are true, then we have what the 3rd or 4th time a company has seriously fucked themselves because nobody understands the concept of how emails are sent

So the main event for Slammiversary is now a Fatal-Four way between Ace Austin, Trey, Eddie Edwards and TBA.  Twitter world odds on favorite is EC3 as his 90 no compete clause should've run out on June 25th.

Rumor is that Chris Bey will debut his new move in his X-Division Title match against Willie Mack.

Reddit peeps have already named it.... the BeyBlade..

Man, that Levin story is a bad look. Not-so-independent third party looks into accusations, promises anonymity, then leaks info to Anthem executives. Anthem CCs a journalist with said independent third party who now has an Anthem email and is found to have spent six years working with an Anthem executive in the past. They already denied Levin's claims but that was before they basically pulled a Russo and showed that yeah so called independent third party is indeed with the company. How could anybody but Moose and Sami Callihan want to work there after that? I've been having a lot of fun watching classic tna matches with friends lately, but this should be the last nail in the coffin... Then again, how many times has that been said?

They’re moving a fair amount of merch over at Prowrestlingtees so I could definitely see that. Plus if they don’t overdo it like they did last time it’s a decent stable with a pretty good theme song.

I could be down with Gallows and Anderson as the new Aces & Eights with D-Lo as a manager who occasionally gets in the ring.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows have locked up their international deals around the same time that they inked their United States deals as well.

Earlier this week, it was reported by multiple outlets that Gallows and Anderson are heading to Impact Wrestling in a deal that will allow them to also work for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

At the time, Dave Meltzer was able to confirm they are expected to work for NJPW once they’re free to travel to Japan, but no deal had been agreed upon. Gallows and Anderson came to terms with Impact after the promotion made them a surprisingly strong money offer and “they are virtually certain to accept it.”

In the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer wrote, “In fact, they’ve already cut the New Japan deal with Gedo and Nobuyuki Sugabayashi, although it likely doesn’t go into effect until New Japan’s hiring freeze ends.”

Thus, the former WWE stars are under the impression from Impact that they can work for both promotions starting later this month. The reason for that is due to them having to wait out their non-compete clause deals with WWE, which expires on July 15th.

Impact has already teased them coming in, but there’s still no word yet on when they’ll make their promotional debuts although speculation is that it would make sense for them to appear at Slammiversary.

I'm almost surprised NJPW's cool with them working Impact as well as for them.  Don't know if they softened their stance but even when Impact changed the name and was doing much better NJPW didn't want any ties to them at all due to Okada's time there.

Arguably them working Impact and NJPW simultaneously says more about the NJPW/ROH relationship than it does about NJPW's feelings on Impact.

I imagine Callis had a bit to do with it considering his history with NJPW.

TJP presently works for both too. So as Raziel states it’s got to be something to do with Callis. Plus the talk was at least with Gallows and Anderson that their New Japan dates get first priority so I don’t see what else NJPW could ask for (not that it seems to be a likely issue anyhow as Impact usually tapes 6 weeks of tv over 2-3 days then takes 6 weeks off).
