RIPPA Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 I would have never imagined that at the start of 2020, Impact isn't the North American company on the shakiest footing. 1

Web Conn Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 If Tessa becomes Impact World Champion on the 12th does the WWE have Charolette go over Brock at the Rumble? 1
Brian Fowler Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 (edited) How much money has this company sunk into new title belts? Like, I was in favor of the last update when they were using the GFW belts with big "IMPACT" plates slapped over the logo, but they goddamn sure didn't need another new world title belt right now. I don't think the last one lasted three years. Edit: if you count the Jeff Hardy vanity belt, this is the sixth design in less than 13 years just for the world title. RIPPA Posted January 2, 2020 Author Posted January 2, 2020 I am almost positive Matt is going to end up back there by summer. There is no way they would make him sign anything exclusive (not that he would with at least them) but he could clearly get some of that sweet sweet Anthem money wil relatively no work 1
Curt McGirt Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 A Hardy showing up on WWE TV nowadays feels like "oh hey, there's a Hardy". A Hardy showing up on Impact again will feel like "oh shit, buckle up". 7
DreamBroken Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 It's sad how quickly they were brought down from that WrestleMania return pop. I'd love to have them back in Impact along with others from the 2016 era being wasted. Final Deletion was legendary, the Matches of the Decade list is pretty good though the bottom half would be more my top half. the top 10 Impact matches of the decade from the vid: 10. LAX vs. Lucha Bros - Full Metal Mayhem (Rebellion 2019) 9. Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson - Steel Cage Match (Lockdown 2010) 8. Gail Kim vs. Taryn Terrell - Last Woman Standing Match (Slammiversary 2013) 7. Austin Aries vs. Robert Roode (Destination X 2012) 6. Sami Callihan vs. Tessa Blanchard (Slammiversary 2019) 5. Sami Callihan vs. Pentagon Jr. - Hair vs. Mask (Slammiversary 2018) 4. Hardyz vs. Wolves vs. Team 3D - Full Metal Mayhem (Impact, 10/6/14) 3. Motor City Machine Guns vs. Beer Money - 2/3 Falls Match (Impact, 8/12/10) 2. AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle (Impact, 1/4/10) 1. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy - The Final Deletion (Impact, 7/5/16) 1

Brian Fowler Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Honestly, Impact could do a lot worse than letting Matt help book the company.
Raziel Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 I'm sure Calis and D'Amore aren't happy with ownership thinking they had any power over NJPW and torpedoing that.
Archibald Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 I don't know, on one hand it is good that any will they/won't they theories got put out for good after this. I hope that something like that happens for NJPW/AEW after WK as well.
Raziel Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 I'm not sure what else needs to be done to put those theories to rest, but people still want to believe Wrestling should work like FirePro, so...
BEN! Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Matt Hardy would be a step backwards for IMPACT. He'd be a better fit for ROH these days. Vanguard-1 versus the Briscoes on the chicken farm. PCO running amok on the Hardy Compound. There's only been 4 WHC belts after the NWA split. Two with Panda and then the GFW and current one. They just painted the blue parts red.

I don't know the probability of it happening but if Matt Hardy (Jeff too if he is in the right frame of mind), Lashley, EC3 and McIntyre returning to Impact this year would be a tremendous coup for them. 1

So, Lucha Anglo Underground, then... my inner Cornette wants to hate that idea, but I enjoyed something like 95% of Impact's Hardy lunacy despite myself, so fuck it... bring it on. Hopefully Jeremy Borash would be able/willing to go back with Matt, as I don't think he gets enough credit for the work he did producing the Hardy stuff.

Web Conn Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Isn't the rumor and endue that Triple H hired Borash with the idea that when he and Steph eventually take over from Vince, Borash is stepping in the replace Kevin Dunn?
