I enjoy that none of the Military Bowls (including the First Responder bowl) have a Military school playing in them

So they couldn't just call it the Kelloggs Sun Bowl they had to specifically mention Tony the Tiger?

I hope a decent number of players in the Cure Bowl get the flu

This is maybe the worst slate of bowl game names ever.

Also, two weeks ago we figured ND would be playing in the Camping World bowl game against Iowa State. Glad I could check that today and see that was indeed the case.

When you look at all of these bowl game names, surely there's hope for a DVDVR Bowl at some point.

I'm sure at this point we could pitch in and the the DVDVR Survival Tobita Bowl as a low major.

If we did a DVDVR Bowl I am guessing that West Texas State is automatically qualified 😁

Chris Petersen’s last game at Washington will be against Boise State.  That’s a cool matchup.

This might have been mentioned in last week's thread but not surprisingly - Mike Norvell will not coach Memphis in their bowl game

Oh, and if you didn't hear about it.  D3 had their own Egg Bowl-like situation. But much more insane.

Spoiler

Wheaton scores a FAT GUY TOUCHDOWN to tie with time almost expiring in their playoff game against St. John's (MN) to pull within 1.  The lineman spikes the ball, which in D3 is a no-no. The unsportsmanlike pushes the PAT back 15 yards.  And of course, Wheaton misses.  BUT!!!!

SJU roughed the kicker.  AND  Wheaton had 12 men on the field.   Those offset.  Re-kick.

And of course... Wheaton misses again.

Love the train rolling by while Wheaton tries to tie the game. That poor lineman...

Wait, spiking the ball is a penalty?

Creating a bowl for a product that is basically obsolete thanks to subscription services sounds about right.   I mean I just call it the Blockbuster Bowl

Is there even a California State?

Kind of?  Schools like Fresno, San Diego, and San Jose are part of the Cal State University system.

But Berkeley is part of the University of California system, which is, confusingly, something else all together.

To the kids that have to be in Buffalo in late December... yeah, going to the Bahamas for the weekend is pretty damned important. 🙂

Lost in the T-shirt confusing Cal State with Cal is that Illinois stopped using that helmet design two years ago.

Interesting idea I thought of: remember how there was a minor bowl game called the International Bowl held in Canada several years back? They should bring it back with a unique twist: the game will be played on a CFL field under CFL rules.
