I think 8 teams is too many. But there are years where 4 might be too few. I'd rather keep it to 4 than go to 8 though.
Kuetsar
IF you expand it, go to six, just like the NFL, top two sides get a bye.

I agree but I don't like that in college making kids play the extra game. Six is probably the perfect number but I'm good if they stay to 4.
Brian Fowler
Most of the expansion plans involve cutting the conference title games. I'll always be in favor of my crazy 16 team tournament where every conference champion gets in, but I think the most likely path is an 8 team field where the power 5 champs all get auto bids, one G5 auto, and two at large bids. Play the first round on campus with the higher seeds at home.
EVA
LOL Bama dropped to 13 in the final rankings. The way the committee has responded to the Auburn loss is just bizarre. Meanwhile Georgia gets manhandled by LSU and only drops one spot? Congrats to them for getting the playoff field correct, but otherwise this committee was kinda brain dead. Bama vs Michigan confirmed for the Citrus Bowl, though.
Brian Fowler
Honestly, I don't think they put any effort into ranking the teams that aren't in contention for a playoff spot. There was a bizarre "thank the committee" article on ESPN today. Because they did a good job picking the only four teams with any real argument to get in, and ranked them in the rather obvious order, I guess?
