Raw Strives To Survive! - 11/18/2019

Dolfan in NYC

Recommended Posts

My god that was chaotic.   But, in a good way?

I think the main problems with this build are, 1. No one particular star from NXT is having a break out moment (aside from the almost missed Keith Lee dive), and 2. The Women's SurSer tag team is basically an afterthought.  I literally have no idea who is actually on the team because either they didn't announce it, or I got distracted in the 5 seconds they did.

Anyway, NXT is must see in two days.

It just dawned on me that as if I didn't have enough reasons to love Asuka, her music reminds me of "21st Century Schizoid Man" by King Crimson. And speaking of music references, Rowan wins all the points for the "I Reek of Putrefaction" Carcass shirt. If that sucker was in full color people would have been getting grossed out backstage all night long. They still might not have liked getting a glimpse of that in catering.

Samoa Joe: "I think that translates to "stay down" hahaha. Dunno what happened but he'll always have a spot behind the desk if he's injured.

HHH interrupting a long, perfectly fine match to cut a promo was way 2002 of him. They really couldn't book a finish? "Did you drink out of this?" was pretty funny though.

Given their penchant for micromanagement I dunno how they line up these brand brawls.

Rotating guys who are injured or Who Creative Has Nothing For on commentary from week to week wouldn't be the worst idea.

That was pretty much Sunday Night Heat towards the end and the commentary was usually the highlight of the show.

That interview segment with Shayna could've used a bit more even kayfabe..

There is no real logic in event security allowing 4H to come in for the beatdown, yet preventing Becky from getting some get back after Shayna gave RAW the facts of life.

Shayna and crew bounced under their own recognizance without so much as a hostile escort out of the building by event security?  WHAT~?

I'd have had some sort of pull apart thing go on followed by a forceful 4H ejection from the building to at least give an air of impartiality.

Oh, and you're in the pro wrestling business now, Jessamyn Duke.  You're not in MMA anymore.  I love your devotion to proper nutrition, but there's no need for further weight cutting.   Go to Chipotle and get you like five burrito bowls.

I think her shirt should've read "Let's Eat!" instead of "Let's Fight!"

Dug AOP taking out Hawkins and Ryder. Kind of hope we see the do that to anyone trying to challenge for the tag belt before them. Shit I hope they go into SS and kick every tag teams' ass during the triple threat.

Tozawa/Buddy was so good.

Owens/Drew was good until the HHH interruption. I see no reason why Owens couldn't win the damn match before that. I did like HHH trying to convince Owens to join up just like he did with Seth. I also loved that UE clearly said fuck it and went after Owens to make sure their spots in NXT stay secure. You could clearly see them and HHH at odds. It won;'happen, but I would love to see Seth turn on Team Raw during SS and Owens get slotted into Seth's hero spot on Raw. Owens is more over anyways.

Asuka/Nattie was pretty nice while it lasted.

I ff through the final brawl. It just seemed like chaotic mess and not a super entertaining one. There is a such thing as too much even with brawls like this.

Joe on commentary was wonderful. I would not mind seeing him show up again there.

That Dijakovic RKO sell

Dijakovic needs to reel in his selling.   I love that the dude wants to make his opponents look like a million bucks, but there's no way he should be flip selling or belly out bumping for Orton and Swerve.

Joe almost single-handedly got me to watch the matches in real time instead of at 2x speed.  It only lasted for a match and a half but that's progress at least.  From what I heard so far he's fantastic and I hope he's on more until he heals up.  And is it just me or does the NXT invasion not feel that special anymore.  It was wonderful with that first SD show but no matter who shows up I think I'll be good with not seeing invasion angles for quite awhile if ever.

They have overdone the sneak attacks. Its become predictable. They needed to do more official challenges instead.

I have some bad news: they're going to do the exact same angles next November, and they won't make sense then either.

Survivor Series is by far the weakest time of the year creatively.
