Bill Watts would fire Jimmy Havoc for not defeating Excalibur in that fight

Excalibur is an ex-wrestler so he'd probably be ok.  You were allowed to lose fights to wrestlers.

Watts would probably think Havoc was the ref anyways.

Fuck... It just hit me that with his latest 5 year contract, Randy Orton is still going to be working for WWE 20 YEARS after he won the world title...

I'm a fan of Orton but geez, that's insane to think about.

Especially when you think that, say, Earthquake's run from 89-93 seemed like it lasted ages... and there was less TV then. Or that people were bored of/turning on Hogan and saying he was past it after a 9 year off/on run at the top

Is it possible that the way it goes now is

1) use AEW paranoia to negotiate a new contract with a disproportionately generous downside guarantee

2) ask for your release on twitter

3) receive the terrible punishment of being sent home to sit out your contract

4) sit at home getting paid decent money doing nothing

5) hope vince forgets you exist rather than hauling you back in to tank his own product with a thinly-veiled punishment storyline

It's an interesting thought, because although he may not be able to wrestle they can't stop him from say, being a personal trainer or something.

I mean no offense to Sin Cara, but I’m not saying to myself “Bruh, what do you bench”.

I know someone who had that job. I won't say he's a friend, but I know him. He's one of those guys, the more people get to know him, the fewer friends he has. Anyway, at one point he worked for the UK office of a large American firm, but they gradually slowed down and eventually closed the UK side of the operation. But they kept him on salary in case they ever did anything over here, or needed someone to deal with a potential European supplier or customer. Except they had no European suppliers or customers. So his job was to stay at home between 9am and 5pm, answering a phone that never rang and responding to emails he never received. After nearly twenty years of that, they let him go. He had a really hard time getting and keeping new jobs after that though, with his lack of employment skills. Plenty of work experience, no experience of working.

I don't know whether to laugh, feel a tad envious (until the last two sentences) or feel bad for the poor guy.  Probably somewhere in the middle.  I think I would go nuts if I was in that spot and at least try and learn some stuff along the way but that's just me.

I wouldn't offer up any sympathy. That whole time, he knew plenty of people who did more work in one hour of their working week than he did in all forty of his, made less than half the money he was making, and his attitude was "I deserve what I make because I'm the smartest". Even towards people who were clearly his intellectual superiors. Take an arrogant, entitled guy, who thinks the world owes him a living, and then have the world actually give him a very good living (in exchange for no effort) for a couple of decades, it's not going to make him saintly, is it? No. He's a twat.

I'm in too much medication, that I'm now wondering why a British guy with 20 yrs of experience not working would want or need the skills or experience of apartment wrestling, nonpornographic or otherwise.

He may not need the skills and experience of apartment wrestling right now, but it's better to diversify. You never know when those skills might come in handy.

Rusev confirmed his storyline is a collaboration with him and WWE. And he thinks it's great and the best.

Rusev is either working us about thinking the storyline is partially his great idea or he and Lana have some fucked up fetishes.
