We know. It's hard. But we don't want to moderate your political discussion.

Going against these wishes will result in a suspension.

See, I know that, and you know that. The people who glared at me at the grocery store today whenever I sneezed? I don't think they know that.

Nobody said we couldn't have a bit of fun on the expanse of stupid people right now.

So I got the information that two of the twelve people in my group at work are in quarantine right now, one was skiing in a resort a week ago, that in the meantime has been declared a red zone and the other ten days ago had contact to someone who eventually tested positive. One sixth! The Austrian government already introduced a curfew yesterday and decided to close any non-essential shops, but I am sure this will get stricter over the next couple of days.

I have very sensitive seasonal allergies. The pollen count where I live has been pretty bad.

I could really do without the horrified stares whenever I sniffle or sneeze.

My brother has bad seasonal allergies as well. Luckily for him the people at his office are around him enough to know and only joke about it with him considering the current situation goign on.

This is a great time to loudly announce that no one who has eaten raw sea cucumbers over the last week has tested positive for the virus. This has the added benefit of happening to be true. By that same token, no one who has admitted to sodomizing a sheep in the last week has tested positive either. Two possible shields or two coincidences? I guess we'll just have to wait for a larger test sample to be available for study. I'm sure that there will be no shortage of brave souls willing to be a bit ahead of the curve... NJ, NY, and Connecticut all jointly announced casinos, gyms, and movies must all close tonight at 8:00. Restaurants and bars must go to takeout only. I really couldn’t give a shit because I mostly just go to work and hang out at home, but it’s definitely going to make the grocery/box store panic worse.

Thanks to the bulshittery of COVID-19, we've all been issued NIPR laptops so we're prepping for the possible order that we may all be teleworking for the next two weeks.  DoD has put a moratorium on travel so not only does that mean that TDY is out, DoD has also said that they are not approving any leave so no taking vacations during the DoD travel ban.

Hopefully this does not affect the vSphere class I'm signed up for next week.  If all they say is that I have to eat the gas and mileage, then I still intend to go to the class.

To make matters worse, a contractor in our building went to the hospital on Saturday with "flu like symptoms" and he's being tested for COVID-19.  We won't know the results until Wednesday or Thursday.

Fingers crossed and doused in sanitizer that we all don't get sick.

Working from home all week, possibly longer.  Have never really done this before.  Worst thing about it so far is my home internet seems to be going in and out quite a bit during the day.

I decided to take my company up on the "work from home if you want" thing.  I was going to go in today and get the lay of the land, but then Fauci announced yesterday that everybody should stay home, and that was good enough for me!  I typically WFH a day or two a week anyway, so I'm used to it, myself.

The governor of Maryland just decreed all gyms, bars, restaurants, etc. close tonight at 5 until further notice.  Daaaammmn.  Now if he'd just do something about the hoarders in the grocery stores.  No Karen, you do not need 8 jars of pasta sauce.

The black market on Purell and Toiler Paper should get hot any day now.

You joke but a guy who was hoarding and selling Purell got busted by his state's AG.  I forget all the details but I'm sure it's Googleable.

That was the water cooler talk this morning.

Happy ending: He got publicly shamed into donating all of it.

That was *after* he was the subject of a NYT article where he was bitching about the hit he was gonna take because Amazon and eBay nuked his, and other, panic gougers listings and accounts.  The article finished by him explaining why his 500% markup was ok.

Still no decision on telework but my class is less than 150 miles away, so I am approved to attend without mileage reimbursement.  I can live with that.

You're better than me.  If work said "We're not reimbursing mileage", then I don't leave the house/office.

Schools are out here till at least April 3.  Couple that with work sending us home indefinitely, and we'll all be in the house together till then.   I'm gonna have to take the kid out on hikes and stuff just to keep us sane.

A friend if sanitizing her entire house five times a day.  That's despite never leaving the house.

Do that, as long as you still can. All over Europe, it usually went the same way: The first sanctions were to forbid public gatherings above 500 people, then came closing of schools, afterwards closing of non-essential shops, restaurants, cinemas etc. And then finally (well, finally so far) came some lax forms of curfew (right now, there are five reasons to leave the house over here, (1) to go to / return from work, (2) to go grocery shopping, (3) to help others, (4) if your house is on fire (yes, they added that to the decree) and (5) to go for short walks (and that only either alone or with the people you are actively living together). In Italy, as people don't adhere to that rules, they are now talking about introducing a strict curfew (probably kicking out (5) and probably further restrict (1) and (2)).

Oh yes, it does not help that the weather outside is as good as it can be, sunny, 18 deg C (65 deg F), flowers blooming everywhere etc.

Training center is like a fifteen minute drive from my house and I don't have to get to class until 9AM.  It's also a week out of the office.

I am winning this deal.

I was just starting to get back into shape thanks to using the gym at work, and now it's closed until further notice.  Yay.  I get to go back to sleeping erratically unless I can figure out something appropriately high-impact at home.  Yay.

Oh, well in that case, that's not bad.  I thought that was 150 miles a day.

I suppose you could jog in circles and do old fashioned calisthenics.
