MLB OFFSEASON - P&C report 2/10/20

Dolfan in NYC

Recommended Posts

I should have mentioned this in the Chapman post but forgot.

The question is he looking for a giant 7 year pie in the sky Craig Kimbrel wishlist deal or just a larger payday over the next 3-4 years.

That will probably help determine if he gets what he is looking for

(One theory is the Yanks would extend him by one year and just up his annual salary a bit. They did this with CC Sabathia a few years ago.)

This is going to end well.

Indeed, a 42 year-old manager who is in all probability a better player than anyone on their 40-man roster, what could possibly go wrong?

Stephen Strasburg has opted out of his deal with the Nationals. Scott Boras says that he plans on re-negotiating with DC because of course he needs teams to play off each other

Yanks and Chapman work out an extension (the Yanks just added an additional year at $18 million (so he now has three years remaining totalling $48 million)

Since the Giants dicked Hensley Meulens over he is reportedly going to become the Marlins hitting coach (and unofficially be manager in waiting for when they finally tire of Mattingly)

I literally yelled "BAM BAM IS RIGHT THERE" at the TV this morning when they flashed the finalists for the job.

Unfortunately paywalled, but there seems to be more about the electronic sign-stealing going on over the last couple years. Story has to do with the 2017 HOU team.

EDIT - Here's a non-paywalled link to another piece of the story, plus a tweet with a statement from Danny Farquhar with a video included for you to check out how they were signaling to hitters. You can see just before the glove comes up to cover his mouth, he is saying something about "I think they are". If the video embed doesn't take you there, jump to 2:58:30.
