Leave it knotted, slip it over your head, and adjust. For being in the funeral business as long as I was, it took me a long time to learn how to tie a tie. It usually still takes me at least two tries to get it. A friend of mine used to say "Somewhere, a funeral home is missing it's drapes" when he'd see an ugly tie.
Jiji
I love those style Omega promos. Not as fond of the over the top style. I know he is pretty much beyond receiving criticism at this point, or that's how he comes off, but if he just toned things down a skosh he'd be so better off (mainly the faces). This is coming from super fan #1A.
AxB
Our school tie was orange, with two thin black stripes around a thin white stripe. Meaning whenever Hull City are on TV, if their manager at the time is a suit and tie guy, his club tie makes him look like he went to my school.
Godfrey
Marvez reminds me of Mark Madden in that he’s got a legit background in wrestling reporting and has earned his shot at commentating but just comes off terribly on TV. Dude needs a stylist. At least he’s not yelling Snoochie Boochies (yet).
Technico Support
Speaking of commentary, aside from saying something about how all "Oriental" wrestlers like using kicks, Ross has been half decent and worlds better than his half asleep, uninspired NJPW work. Excalibur continues to be tremendous. I like how he actually calls moves by their names. I love all the minutiae of move names and that was one of the things I fell in love with as a kid, like how I imagine kids who love baseball get caught up in stats. Actually naming moves is 1000% part of treating this as a sport. You don't see football analysts call plays using vague terms because "the average viewer doesn't care about that." Ace
Mostly because Excalibur is carrying it. and can handle PbP and color.
RIPPA
Well Week 3 of TV will be all Title Matches All The Time as they have added the 1st defense of the Women's title to go along with the World Title
RIPPA
Also not sure if it was mentioned but from the new WON Quote Aja Kong, Yuki Sakazaki, Shoko Nakajima and Bea Priestley are all booked in Japan on dates that would coincide with All Out, so it would appear they wouldn’t be available for the Casino Battle Royale or a Kong vs. Kong confrontation unless something changes.

Also has me wondering about Yuka because Brandi specifically mentioned her among four she thinks has a shot in the battle royal. Hopefully they aren’t repeating the PAC flub again so quickly. Stardom has a show on 9/1. Japan is probably enough hours ahead that Bea likely can't make the date.

Niners Fan in CT
It was a good promo from Brandi though. I liked it a lot.
Jiji
I'm already over Brandi. edit: Okay, that was pretty good. But Brandi the wrestler/heel authority needs to go away tho. Edited August 16, 2019 by Oyaji

In a correction from the new issue, while Bea Priestley is in the Five Star Grand Prix for Stardom that takes place over the next few weeks, she is not booked on their 9/1 show, which means she is available to appear for AEW at the All Out show in Chicago. That's a nice way of saying she's likely on that card as they try and determine the two women who will face off on 10/2 in the first women's championship match.
Octopus
Brandi bringing fire! That was a legit promo. The ring light in the eye was perfect.

Yeah, she knocked it out of the park. I've noticed that reflection in the eyeball in a lot of their single shot / talking head promos. I like it. I don't especially know why, but it just works for me.
Octopus
I’m a mark. You add enough good promos and the right build up and I’ll completely by into the match up. I was mildly intrigued with a Cody vs Spears match up. Or even just a wait and see on Spears, in general. The casual dismissal by Cody, the chair shot, MJF being pissed, the appearance of Tully, that contract signing, the question of who will be in Cody’s corner, and now the Brandi promo which both adds to the heated tension while still pumping up Cody as being dismissed himself. This is what I love about wrestling. If the match up isn’t going to be some guaranteed 8-Star banger, I want a reason to care. Now I’m looking forward to this match and if it will lead to more shenanigans. Maybe Arn? Maybe more chair shots? Maybe a Cage Match down the road? They’ve earned my trust in these situations to see where they go. I’m skeptical in certain areas, but building a feud through these promo videos is something I feel they’re stellar at. Hopefully they can translate that to TV.
Niners Fan in CT
Cody has shown he can do a good blood feud and Spears is a solid hand *prepares to duck chairs flying at my skull* I'm into it. Tully adds a lot to the feud of course. I always say if you give something a great story and build them I'm all for it. Hell, I was into The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler when Dolph's career was on the line. Two guys I normally don't care too much about but the story was great.
Casey
I was really expecting more Jake as the blackjack dealer giving out cards to women wrestlers for the battle royal. Damnit. I'm disappointed

I really wish I felt the same. Excalibur is clearly putting the work in and has a good voice. I think he could be really good with time, but I find the move specific names completely irritating. I also find some of his analysis a bit too insider. A bit twee. I’m fine with JR, but hope he greatly improves with time. I believe he will. Obviously he brings a lot to the table. Excited to see the Joshi performers getting a chance to work one on one. I hope they knock it out of the park. And Brandi’s promo topped most every modern promo of the past few months. Intensity and drama can be very difficult to convey as proven by all the awful promos on Major League Wrestling, roh and any of what I can mostly only assume from the New York territory. If she can tighten up her in ring and become passable she’ll go a long way with clear promo ability. I agree tho, drop the played out heel authority figure. Dammit, why can’t she just be a gorgeous and very good manager for Cody.
AxB
Excalibur is different in that he uses the Mexican names for a lot of moves, rather than the American or Japanese versions we're mostly used to. Nobody uses the old British move names though. People say Sharpshooter or Scorpion Deathlock, or even Sasorigatame. Nobody calls it a Powerlock anymore.

Maybe executed it wouldn’t work as well as I am imagining, but I would love that. I don’t however have issue with the Lucha names. It’s more the wrestler a has named each common move after himself nonsense. Edited August 16, 2019 by HarryArchieGus
