Dolfan in NYC
Here are the results from the tapings on May 1st. These will air between 5/8 and 6/5 Spoiler – NXT Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders opened the show by calling out William Regal and trying to relinquish the belts. The Street Profits interrupted, and Regal made a title match between the two teams for later in the tapings. 1. Keith Lee defeated Cezar Bononi. 2. KUSHIDA defeated Kona Reeves. Drew Gulak watched the match from the stage. 3. Vanessa Borne defeated Jessie Elaban. 4. NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The Viking Raiders (c) vs. The Street Profits ended in a disqualification when The Forgotten Sons interfered. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch joined the brawl. After the match, The Experienced Vikings bowed for the crowd and left the belts in the middle of the ring. 5. Xia Li defeated Rachael Evers. – Undisputed Era cut a promo saying they’re stronger than ever, and that at NXT TakeOver: San Jose, Adam Cole will win the NXT Championship, and O’Reilly and Fish will win the Tag Team Championship. Johnny Gargano interrupted. Matt Riddle ran in from the crowd and attacked Roderick Strong and got beaten down until Gargano made the save. 6. Mansoor defeated Sean Maluta. – Velveteen Dream cut a promo in the ring and was interrupted by the returning Tyler Breeze. Breeze wanted a North American Championship shot, but Dream told him to get in line. They take a selfie together, and Breeze attacks Dream. 7. Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner defeated Team 3.0. – Undisputed Era vs. The Street Profits vs. The Forgotten Sons vs. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch for the vacant NXT Tag Team Championship will happen at TakeOver. 8. Candice LeRae defeated Reina Gonzalez. After the match, the Horsewomen attacked Candice until Io Shirai made the save with a kendo stick. 9. Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish defeated Matt Riddle and Champion Johnny Gargano thanks to interference from Adam Cole and Roderick Strong 10. Mia Yim defeated Bianca Belair. 11. KUSHIDA defeated Drew Gulak. After the match, Gulak complained to the referee that he’d kicked out. 12. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch vs. The Forgotten Sons ended in a disqualification when The Street Profits interfered. All four members of Undisputed Era hit the ring and beat down everyone with a ladder. The tapings ended with UE posing on the ladder. Note that Adam Cole did name a town for Takeover. But I'm sure that will be edited out.
RIPPA
Basically the Takeover card now (I am not starting a thread yet because we don't even know location) Gargano/Cole - NXT Title 4 way for Vacant Tag Titles (Undisputed ERA vs. Street Profits vs. Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan vs. The Forgotten Sons) Velveteen Dream vs. Tyler Breeze - NXT North American Title And then you would assume it will either be Baszler vs. Io or Horsewomen vs. Candice/Io/Kacy
Dewar
Spoiler Based on the result of the last match of the taping, I would think the tag title match ends up being a ladder match.
Dolfan in NYC
Yeah, so the thing about that...
MORELOCK
The fuck is up with vacating the titles? The team that has already been ruined on the main roster can't afford to drop the belts in the ring?
Eivion
Its nice to see Xia win a match. Not sure why they had the War Raiders vacate. Would have been better to just let the Street Profits win.
RIPPA
I am thinking they didn't want to put the Street Profits over after having them lose to the War Raiders last week on TV. It reads awkward enough with the Street Profits having just lost basically being all "He give us another title shot!" Now why they didn't have the Raiders lose to another team is a different matter
CSC
Or just have them in the multi-team match at Takeover and not be the ones to lose the fall.
Dolfan in NYC
So, the question that begs, do they just edit around and wipe out a week of their tapings for whatever they tape in the first hour of Takeover XXV? Or does THAT stuff get pushed to the 6/12 show. I seem to remember hearing that the next taping isn't until the 12th?
RIPPA
1 hour ago, Dolfan in NYC said: I seem to remember hearing that the next taping isn't until the 12th? Correct - the 12th and 13th are back to back tapings They have done episodes longer than a hour before so that is one option But there are bunch of matches taped that could easily be removed without blinking a eye (Borne/Jessie, Xia/Evers, Mansoor/Maluta)
