AEW Double or Nothing - 5/25/2019

Is there a reason they couldn't/wouldn't just do what they did in England on this show with the DQ finish?  Even Pac going over and that being the end of it doesn't seem like a horrible idea. "You can go over here but you're going to have to lose shortly after" seems like a weird hangup when this could seemingly have been treated as a one off match for now, or something to come back to way down the line. As others have said, Hangman is a star on the rise and will look good in the match so I doubt one loss here would hurt much in the long run as he's built back up consistently as the company grows.

Part of the line Dave is spinning is they don't want DQs on their PPVs, they want proper wins and losses.

He's been a very good boy through this situation. Yes he has. Who's a good boy? Dave's a good boy!

That's what's feeding the visa issues rumor. But it could also be they don't want to fly him over if he doesn't want to do business. May as well get the match for cheaper if you aren't going to make any money on it.

Cody is such an annoying try hard. Dude should be a heel exclusively if he's going to wear suits like that and carry a walking stick.

Please no Heel/Authority Cody for AEW.

Cant be anywhere close to that storyline.

Why not? If you want a "pure sport" product, you have to account for the fact that most of the people who run real sport leagues are awful.

Herb Abrams sounded like a very fun guy to work for. 😉

Simply because you need your heels to be the wrestlers...not the company.

Heels can’t become true top heels in WWE because they stay in the shadow of the Authority. It dampens everything in WWE.

AEW can’t possibly go down the same boring ass road WWE has gone down over and over again.

Was just visiting my parents and saw an AEW PPV commercial running on ... discovery I think.

Yeah, but like Roger Goodell is a heel to fans of every team, not just half of them. Richard Scudamore is biased against every team in the Premier League and every team that's ever been relegated. Whereas heel authority figures always play favourites.

Oh really?

Of course Cody wrestles. I was making a comment on you wanting to make him a heel.

Cody should stay face for the foreseeable future for reasons I have stated above..in my opinion.

There are like forty EVPs. One of them being heel doesn't have to be an "authority" storyline.

Cody dresses like a d-hole and has a punchable voice. Heel!

Any pictures of the Pac vs Page match online? Because it would be a bit of a spoiler about how well the Full Gear Challenge went. Unless he's somehow cutting a load of fat this week or summat.

So if they're last minute replacing PAC and not doing an injury angle, who would be a suitable replacement that would be looked at as a major improvement to the show?

The only suitable replacement for PAC would obviously be X-Pac.

Bring in another DG guy, and call it a DG offer match.

Jake Hager.

Hager wins with submission ankle lock because of the injury Page sold in England vs PAC.

Sid. Sid wins with three power bombs, then dumps Page off the stretcher after the match.

If Sid were slightly younger and healthier, I'd have no problem with Sid being a veteran monster heel in AEW.

If Punk is coming back you gotta advertise that. Besides I think Vince would be willing to buy Punk two new mansions just so he won’t show up to a AEW show. Are the Khan’s willing to buy three new mansions?
