So, uh, how do I watch this?

It's on PPV and also on B/R Live's app.  The B/R app has the event for $50.  Signing up isn't too bad and at least in my case it'll be available even if I end up seeing it next day.  Considering I have a cookout Saturday I'll be starting this Saturday and finish it Sunday.  If you used the Fite TV app it sounds like similar to that experience though unlike Fite the B/R purchase only has it on demand for 45 days.

Crowning the first champion by having the winner of Omega/50-year old Jericho face the winner of the free pre-show battle royal featuring a bunch of unknowns and jabrones and Glacier is a really Russo-ass way of doing things.  What's the rush?  Why not put a tournament together and have the finals take place on the first TV show?

And how are they drawing numbers for this battle royal if Spears got his from a deck of cards.  A standard deck has four 10s.  And 52 cards and there's only 21 entries.

Jericho or Omega as the inaugural champion makes plenty of sense (hype, ratings, prestige for the belt, etc). Plenty of people in the Battle Royal that would make a viable opponent..MJF, Jimmy Havok, Joey Janela, maybe Darby Allin, maybe Hangman, maybe a bigger surprise. Whoever wins it, if they save the first Championship Match for AEW on TNT’s debut that puts that guy over as a top guy. And would no doubt be a great match.

My money is on Jericho being the first champ as well as possibly becoming IWGP champion and that being the thing that advances a NJPW partnership.

I think with the cards it’s a 21 card deck with 5 of each suit and a joker card.

The 5 guys who drew the same suit will be in the same group to either start the Battle Royal or be in the group of five that enters every three minutes. Whoever draws the joker is #21

It's hard to imagine Gedo booking Jericho to defeat Okada, but the closer we get, the more it feels like it could happen.

I love what Jericho has become, but even I think it would be a bad idea to crown Jericho as the IWGP champion. AEW champion, not as much.

I think the first champion will also tell us a lot about what the booking philosophy for the company is going to be. Is this going to be a company the believes more in the babyface chasing the title or will it be having a babyface on top taking on all comers. My brain has been so polluted by WWE's booking that I'm not even sure what works in 2019.

I think I’d accept Jericho being the first champion as long as it’s not a fluke win. He needs to win it in clean veteran way that shows that Omega got cocky by underestimating Jericho’s new finisher, while still protecting Omega, and his finish. Then have Hangman win it from him later.

My predictions for Double or Nothing.

——————————

Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho

Jericho wins via Judas Effect. Moxley comes out after the match and wipes out both Omega and Jericho with a fist wrapped in barbwire.

——————————

AAA World Tag Team Championship -- The Young Bucks (c) vs. The Lucha Bros.

Lucha Bros wins

——————————

Cody vs. Dustin

Cody wins

——————————

SoCal Uncensored vs. CIMA, T-Hawk & El Lindaman:

SoCal Uncensored wins

—————————

Best Friends vs. Angelico & Jack Evans

Angelico & Jack Evans wins

—————————

Dr. Britt Baker vs. Kylie Rae vs. Nyla Rose

Baker wins which sets her up for upcoming AEW World Title match down the line.

—————————

Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki & Emi Sakura vs. Hikaru Shida, Riho & Ryo Mizunami:

Hikaru Shida team wins and Shida becomes an overnight sensation in America, Canada & Britain.

—————————

Sammy Guevara vs. Kip Sabian

Guevara wins.

—————————

Casino Battle Royale

Hangman Page is #21 and wins the Battle Royale which will put Jericho & Page in AEW first World Title match at later date.

Brandi Rhodes needs to get off of promoting this PPV.  Between telling people 'It's going to be the best wrestling show of the entire year, maybe even the entire decade. I might be getting ahead of myself" and saying you are not a real wrestling fan if you are not satisfying with Double or Nothing THAT HASN'T HAPPENED YET,  she is keeping the stereotype of AEW fans alive and well.

The latest Being the Elite has a couple of pretty hilarious MJF segments.

They also announced Adam Cole is off the card.

I sure would hope he's off the card considering I saw him in NXT Saturday.  ?

But I know you meant Page so I'll have to see how they play this up on the show.  I still feel he's number 21 in the Battle Royale but if he's really off then I hope he's at least getting paid for what he would have gotten.

Haaaaaa yes.  And I don't know what you're talking about with NXT because Adam Cole is dead.

Page is totally in the battle royal and will just come in wearing a mask or something.  Double Chico El Luchador wins.

Damn, it's pretty amazing how life-like these holograms are nowadays.  Sure had me fooled.

Yeah I think having page in the battle royal is the way to deal with this, although a big surprise would be nice. If Moxley is debuting here I’d have him lay out Cody during his post match promo. He’d get super heat and it would be a big moment.

Page winning the battle royal telegraphs the winner of Omega v Jericho, though.

Not necessarily - a "pure sports build" between Page and Omega is something I could see AEW doing to show that they're different and that they don't always need to have heel vs. face booking.

How fast would Gedo lose the New Japan book if he put Jericho over Okada for the world title?

Two AEW Exec Vice Presidents have ripped New Japan for not valuing them in the past month. Fantasy booking the AEW/NJPW partnership should probably be done by now.

The idea of battle royal winner vs Jericho/Omega winner for the world title seems okay, but should have been announced a lot sooner. Guys like Daniels should probably be in the battle royal going for the top title, and not in a six-man tag with no reward to it.

It couldn't have been announced any sooner than it was, since it's a direct response to them cancelling the PAC/Page match. Originally the winner of the battle royale would only get the first shot at the eventual AEW World Champion. After the match was cancelled last week, they shifted it to where the winner would face the winner of Omega/Jericho for the title instead.

Was PAC/Page officially a title match? Because I don't remember that being formally announced either.

Fun to read a Deadspin reporter calling Meltzer AEW's biggest stan, while writing an article titled "Even when AEW Fucks Up, It Still Feels Like It's Doing the Right Thing".

The "media" coverage of this company is somehow more sickening than Toronto Maple Leafs coverage in Canada to someone who is not a Leafs fan. That's a pretty high bar to clear.

According to this, winner of PAC/Page was supposed to face winner of Jericho/Omega down the line for the title, but I have no idea on this Killam guy or how accurate he is.
