Isn't MiSu technically a free agent?

Yeah, but NJPW is his priority booking, and he works for all their international partners.  It would cause all kinds of trouble if he showed up to work for ROH's new rival, with all the heat there currently.

We will apparently know at 3 PM EST since Cody has said the World Title situation will be discussed on the final Road to Double or Nothing and that is getting posted at 3

Was there any reason given that in a promotion where wins and losses are going to matter, why a random singles match with a champ from another promotion was going to decide their World Title?  Was PAC/Page really supposed to decide their first champ, and if so, that puts more context into why PAC and/or DGate would back out.

I can't imagine NJPW sending anyone over to lose to Page.

PAC wasn't going to lose to Page, so why should Suzuki? Suzuki is also a freelancer who isn't booked on the Super Juniors tour. And NJ is already using AEW contracted talent next month in Jericho.

Jericho' deal with NJPW is separate from his AEW deal.  It's not a talent exchange.

No, but even if it did - they wanted PAC to win to move onto a program with Omega, so if the match between him and Page did decide the first champion.... PAC would have been it. Don't see why they'd back out if that was the case (but it wasn't, so this is hypothetical).

Much like Omega's eventual deal.

Is that an actual name? I googled it and came up empty.

Damien Sandow. Not a fan of UpUpDownDown?

AEW just announced...

Winner of Casino Battle Royale vs Winner of Jericho vs Omega will fight for AEW World Championship at a place and time to be determined later.

So maybe we do see Moxley or some huge surprise name enter the Battle Royale?

Very good promotion heading into DON by AEW.

Battle Royal is probably structured specifically for a huge mystery opponent to make their way in at the end.  The whole waves of five men enter and then ONE GUY gets to enter by himself at the end is telegraphing something (or just Glacier getting the full entrance).

NJPW has two Tokyo Dome shows to fill.

There's plenty of guys to build without going to the dude that was bummed out because he had to go over Tanahashi and left to start his own company.

If it’s Omega Vs. Moxley, then I’m not that big on that match happening so soon. Unless that world title determining match opens the first episode on TNT. That would be a great way to kick off that show by crowning your very champion. You are guaranteed to get a lively crowd with something like that.

I have a feeling Jericho's picking up the win in Omega-Jericho 2. I'd do something Crazy and have Brian Pillman Jr. win the Casino Royale. Build Jericho vs Pillman Jr for the title on the first TNT show or the Memorial Day Chicago Show, give them 25 minutes let Jericho make this kid look like a million bucks and put him over. Jr is still green i know but he can go and he's only going to get better as he gets more ring time. Giving him the strap and having him beat a legend like Jericho would be a good way to differentiate yourself from the WWE. Give a rising still unproven star the strap and see if he can run with the wolves or not.
