Why do they still have WWE PPVs? WWE Network is an actual station. Who on earth would pay 55 bucks for what they can get for 12 or 13 bucks? Haha

I hope the battle royal was changed cause Shad saw "Over The Budget" and flipped his shit.  "How can you already be over budget on the first show?"

AEW has really got to start making their graphics look more like a fight poster or at least make the word 'WRESTLING' visible cause to the uninitiated that doesn't look like pro wrestling.  Maybe a poker tournament but the title and nude Kenny Omega makes it look like a strip poker-themed double penetration gay porno.

Similarly confusing banner outside the MGM Grand.

Does the WWE still own the Rhodes name?

I thought I read Cody say that's been settled in some way though he chooses not to use it.

As for the $50 price tag I'm honestly very okay with it.  I loved in the past how I'd gather with friends and split the cost for WWE PPVs as it was an excuse for us to hang out.  With the Network we still hang out but not for the shows anymore (mainly at bars and occasional parties).  I kind of missed that in a weird way.  But the interest among them is there to check out the show and if they're able to actually hang out we may have one of those PPV hangouts like we used to.  If not for DoN then surely for one of the future shows (assuming it's the same price)  But as long as I can watch this on demand after buying it then I'm cool with hosting it.  This is my take on it of course but even if it was just me I do want to support them as much as possible so I'd likely buy it anyway.

The deal also includes content on B/R Live, including PPV shows. The PPV content will be done more like UFC, where it will be a full price PPV at $49.95, and not undercutting the PPV providers’ price. That may have been something that they had little choice on, because in cutting recent deals with inDemand, Dish and DirecTV, the contract stipulations likely called for an inability to undercut the price on streaming. WWE was able to do that by basically just doing it, and the PPV providers had to either agree to continue airing the shows or not. But WWE had leverage due to its long history which AEW wouldn’t have had.

The price tag brought a lot of complaints, given wrestling fans are used to the WWE streaming at $9.99 per month and New Japan at even less for multiple shows. It’s still less than UFC or boxing PPVs, although boxing PPVs are lessening due to DAZN.

That explains the price tag. The dark side of dealing with a TV business that’s stuck in the past. They just need to survive long enough to get a better deal on the next contract, and build their library.

19.99 on FITE TV (2200 yen in Japan) for everywhere except the US and Canada.

It will be airing at 10 AM on Sunday in Japan so if nothing comes up, I might order it. How is FITE in general?

I usually don't have any issues. I did for All In, but I was able to get a refund quickly and easily.

So apparently PAC vs Adam Page is off because of "creative differences".   So either this is a work by Meltzer and his boys or PAC didn't want to do the job to Page on the PPV since he is a Dragon Gate champion.

If the latter is true, I have no idea why you would think Adam Page should pin PAC unless you actually believe that you need to make a group that has dominated a lot "look strong"

There's a show called AEW Before the Bell at Midnight on Thursday Night (23rd May) on ITV4. Some sort of preview show. Presumably available outside the UK somehow as well.

How many direct losses has PAC taken since coming back to the indies?

Because they wanted Adam Page to be the first AEW champion and were going to award the belt to the winner of the match allegedly.

It's pretty clear that they're going to be trying very hard to elevate Hangman to the level of the other Elite members ASAP. This was supposed to be the initial push.

Fuck. This probably means no Pac & Lucha Bros vs. Kenny & Bucks. That's a straight up Fire Pro dream match.

Here is the WON write up

Quote

The angle at today's WrestleGate show in Nottingham, England involving PAC and Hangman Page was done largely to present the match that had been built up because the match won't be taking place at Double or Nothing on Saturday.

The official word from AEW is that there were creative differences regarding the match and PAC won't be on Saturday's show. With PAC's regular matches in the U.K., it's known that beacuse he takes his status as world champion with Dragon Gate seriously, he has not agreed to any losses since winning the Open the Dream Gate title and to protect that has done 30:00 draws with Zack Sabre Jr. and Will Ospreay. On the flip side, AEW wants to present a sports-like atmosphere and had their own direction for what they wanted.

The PAC vs. Page match will be released this week on the Internet by AEW with the idea that everyone can see the match, even if it had a DQ finish, for free, so fans are getting the hyped up match. Page agreed to fly to England and do the match to make up for the hyped match not happening on the PPV. Page will be wrestling against a new opponent, although the name probably won't be announced before the PPV show. The DQ finish kept things open ended enough that PAC may be back with the promotion at some point to face Page, although there is no definitive time frame.

There will be at least one more announcement made midweek regarding Saturday's show.

This has to be a work. I’m not buying PAC would even bother doing this match with Page if it truly makes PAC look unprofessional in doing a no-show at DON.

Its being reported PAC injured Page’s ankle at end of match making PAC look like even more of a bastard.

If PAC was leaving AEW this match in England would not have occurred and PAC wouldn’t have bragged about not coming to AEW at the end of this match.

This is a magnificent work. The Bastard being the Bastard. Page being injured to where whomever is his opponent at DON will be put over.

Absolutely brilliant.
