Just wanted to pop in the thread and remind everyone that the current, reigning, undisputed NBA champions are the TORONTO RAPTORS ?

Never heard of em

How is it tampering when you talk about one of your OWN players?

You apparently can't say you are going to offer him the supermax next year, because it's "negotiating outside the allowed window" of the CBA terms.

Yeah THAT makes sense. Kawai? You can tamper all you like to get Paul George, but Milwaukee DON'T YOU DARE say you want to lock up you superstar with the max.  What a joke. . .

Yeah the Chinese don't fuck around with politics. In a vacuum Morey shouldn't be fired, but the Rockets might have to appease China. Best case for the Rockets is probably a lengthy suspension. Really any punishment of Morey would be  letting China hinder his freedom of speech(in effect), but are the Rockets going to walk away from that $$$. I would imagine the league office will be getting involved soon, if they haven't already. . .

Especially given that the Rockets have been a big deal in China since Yao (what I read earlier today said they are currently the second most popular NBA team there, behind Golden State)

It's a lot of money to lose. Morey did nothing wrong and he completely fucked up at the same time.

How is this any different than the WWE-Saudi deal? The Chinese government (among other things) is actively committing genocide by attempting to exterminate an ethnic minority (the Ughirs) through forced sterilization of women and killing the existing population. Good on Morey and shame on the contempible toady owner of the Rockets and the spineless eunuchs who run the league for rushing to keep that dirty blood money flowing.

This is one of the worst looks of all time.  Seriously, Morey basically wished that people got the freedom that they're fighting for, and the NBA's stance seems to be, "Fuck their freedom, look at all this money."  It is a terrible look for a league that tends to encourage their employees to speak out against these types of things.

It's also 100% unsurprising.

Thinking about it, those Zion one handers remind me of Shawn Kemp with which how much force he throws down.

He's like a cross between Kemp and Barkley with modern conditioning and training
