On the big/small debate -- everyone needs to watch Darby Allin vs. WALTER from EVOLVE last year.

Great underdog story with WALTER brutalizing the much smaller Darby who of course rules in that underdog role.

Seconded. Absolutely love love love this match.

Also regarding big/little man and WALTER, his ongoing feud with David Starr is some amazing storytelling bleeding over multiple promotions and branching into other feuds over close to two years. Phenomenal stuff.

Did Umaga and Rey ever have a match?

Never a singles match but they were in tags against each other - including a Survivor Series Match from 2007 (Team Triple H vs. Team Umaga)

From last month, Meltzer's lousy writing making it sound like the Saudi shows wouldn't be shown on the Network.  He was saying that since they cannibalized their PPV buys with the Network that instead of WrestleMania, the Saudi shows make the most money per show now not that they wouldn't be shown on the Network.

And on if Sting and Dusty Rhodes ever wrestled, no.  But at Uncensored 1998, it's Hall vs. Sting but Hall's either on some shit or just being a lazy asshole cause Dusty's doing all the heeling and taking all the bumps.  Match is less than ten minutes.

And about Stars & Stripes wrestling the SST on a Nitro dark match.  It was actually Todd Champion and Curtis Thompson, the WCW Patriots against Samu and "The Samoan Savage" Sam Fatu on 12/15/97.  The Patriot and Fatu (Rikishi) would've been in the WWF at the time.

lots of photos of people posing with Howard Finkel today. I say this in the best way possible, but having a giant beard really does make Fink look like a guy with a massive porn collection (yes, that was a Honky Tonk Man claim about Finkel)

i hope that doesn't mean he's dying ?

the only rumors i've really heard involved him having a stroke. Which is still pretty bad, especially in regards to speech, but hopefully being able to be around something like this is a good sign for his health.

I'm probably starting to sound like the resident Kliq apologist here, but I watched a KC shoot with Hall some years ago and I recall him talking about getting Dusty into that role as a thank you for all Dusty did for him when he broke in-- not saying you're wrong whatsoever, just throwing it out there

Since Sean Waltman and Shane Helms worked the WrestleCon show as partners with Jushin Liger - I will continue to hope this means Liger working someone Summerslam weekend

Paul “Triple H” Levesque dropped by the FS1 (Fox Sports 1) morning show on Friday, where he announced that the cable channel will launch a new weekly WWE studio show this fall.

Airing on Tuesday nights, the studio show will cover “Raw,” “SmackDown” and minor-league system, NXT. It will also “feature some very faces familiar to the WWE Universe, both from the past and the present,” according to a rundown provided by “First Things First” moderator Jenna Wolfe.

Sounds cool, but I’d rather they just brought back Prime Time with Renee Young, and Kevin Owens as the Gorilla & Brain of today.

Dunno if it's been talked about but that Will Opsreay vs Lucky Kid match from Spain is my MOTY so far. White Wolf Wrestling has a great, great vibe.

In other news, I already feel way behind on wrestling just from the last 40  hours. The only  thing I've been able to watch was the Barnett vs Suzuki match, which effing rocked.

Summerslam weekend is the same weekend as the G-1 finals - I doubt he'll be working in Toronto

I was rewatching Brock/Bryan earlier today and it made me think - what are everyone's favorite Big Guy vs Small Guy matches?

Luger vs. Pillman from Halloween Havoc 89 is a great example of a big guy vs. small guy match. They told a great story about how the match was all about Luger's power and experience vs. Pillman's speed and fire.

Keith Lee and Lio Rush had an awesome two-match big man/little man series in PWG in 2017 on back to back shows (Pushin Forward Back, which was a 3 way with Trent, and Man on the Silver Mountain, 1 on 1).  Really great examples of the big man little man dynamic.  The 3 way was fun, with the two bigger guys essentially ignoring Rush throughout the start of that match.

There's more of a chance of Liger working Toronto that weekend than something in Budokan.

And on that note they also had a match at MCW that while it may not have been as good as the PWG ones was still really fun to see live.  As much as I generally like Lio he works best in big man/little man matches.
