To go back to the cable vs. streaming thing. I wonder if being successful on some sort of streaming channel could work, as on-demand/streaming seems to be more of the future. Netflix tried with LU. ESPN covers wrestling on their website and probably need fresh content for ESPN+. DAZN maybe? Maybe something where AEW drops a new episode each week

Streaming is the future. Not the present entirely. Get on TV and prove you can pull in ratings. Then add additional content to a streaming service or go to a streaming service.

The show-within-a-show they did was fun, but I think that's a card they've been well served by only playing the once (so far).

I loved it! It was very surreal in a Garth Marenghi sort of way. I don’t want like three seasons of it, but if I was a major executive there, I’d risk my position for like one season of six episodes to get made.

Little off topic but has anyone seen the Fyre music festival documentary on either Netflix or Hulu?

Cody ending up as the Billy McFarland would bring the ??

I did and it did a good job explaining the Fyre fiasco.  For all that's been said I can definitely say that Cody won't ever approach Billy on the scumbag level.  Looking at the past Cody can say (unlike Billy) that he's delivered on his word whether it's for merch or for a show.  Unless there's some parallel I'm missing between the two I fail to see how this is at all related.

I just meant in terms of over promising on certain things and not being able to deliver (the healthcare stuff for example). But no, Obviously it won’t be anything on that level.

I wouldn't be on DAZN right now. Not now. DAZN should be the option when you really need money because so far the only thing that has been proven is the ability to pass out money unwarranted. The only folks not outside the US who seem to be subscribed to DAZN are combat sports journalists and obviously paid Twitter shills. I wouldn't even bother comparing it to ESPN+, which has actual subscribers and offers an amazing amount of flexibility. Also, I would guarantee it's around in five to ten years.

Then there's no comparison at all between the two.  One seems really interested in changing the business while the other is some scummy POS who conned people into buying thousands for an island party.   While I'm blanking on names there's been many who promised the world and either due to unforeseen circumstances or just giving up it never happened.

Fans show up for Double or Nothing, only to realize it's being held at the Park MGM, not MGM Grand.

Both MGM hotels are overbooked however, so AEW fans who purchased a travel package will be taken by bus down the street to stay at the Circus Circus.

Cody and the Bucks couldn't get a ring set up in time, so a moon bounce house has been erected inside the Park MGM theater.

In addition to that, it seems clear the AEW team knows streaming is the future- but unfortunately, AEW just doesn't have enough content to be an attractive streaming service.

NJPW has 40 years of programming for a service, and WWE owns pretty much every important territory's library they can get. Even Impact has connections to get product on GWN.

By contrast, all AEW has in their video library at this time is:

1) All In.

2) Being the Elite.

That's it. That amount of content, right now, would barely be a good Youtube channel.

Just finished this week's BTE. Holy crap, that might be their funniest episode in awhile.

Also, I still can't deal with Joey Ryan having a full beard mainly because it makes him look like one of my friends. There's just too much of resemblance and it's weird. If Okada can go back to the shorts, Joey can go back to the pornstache.

Doing Vegas on MDW is a head scratcher.  I kinda see why, being a long weekend. But the strip is a mess that weekend and everyone is gonna get boned royally on hotels and flights. Won't be like travelling to and getting accommodations in suburban Chicago on Labour Day weekend.

I'm not sure if it was confirmed or debunked somewhere, but few days ago  saw story floating around on Twitter that RoH owns All In footage.

Instead of quality catering that you would expect from a billionaire backed company, they have to settle on hamburgers and hotdogs. Or a cheese sandwich.

As long as Meltzer isn't the one looking for the AEW version of bottled water.
