cwoy2j
Masters was terrible when he first showed up. Stiff as a board (not "stiff" an in he hit people hard, but stiff in that he barely moved), green as grass, etc etc etc. He got good just about the time WWE gave up on him. I can't remember if he was stiff all the time in the ring but he did smash Stevie Richards in the face and break his nose with his Polish Hammer. Early Chris Masters couldn't even work the "stand on the apron" part of a tag match right. I recall seeing him put his foot up on the turnbuckle for his partner to smash their opponent into it -- then take it down, because that wasn't the spot. He was bad enough early on that I think it didn't matter how good he got later on; he wasn't getting another shot at that level.
Victator
For the record, the InVasion PPV was all kinds of awesome. Everything that followed (outside of RVD) was shit, but that initial PPV was the tits. Match quality in 01 WWF was great. They had so much talent, it was impossible to do bad shows. Though you had to tune out the booking.

Helms was over huge in the late summer/fall of 2001. Now that was a lot of fun.

WCW folding killed Helms momentum though, because he was massively over in WCW by the end... he was going to be a bust out star for WCW if they stayed open, and he had to start from scratch as Greg Helms in WWF. Victator
Masters does not get credit for improving as early as he did. Every week he got a little bit better. Working with guys like Tajiri, Val Venis and Stevie (after he came back), by 06 he was a good hand. He had a real passion and work ethic about him too. It is what separates him from guys like Carlito.
Niners Fan in CT
Call me crazy, I always thought Carlito was awesome. Even with him giving 50% it was more entertaining than half the roster. His facial expressions alone were enough to keep watching.
TerjeRUN
Master was EXCELLENT by the time he was let go on his last run, it was a really odd move. People must have thought he was a dick backstage or something.

I remember he was really over as Sugar Shane Helms at the end of WCW. The Vertebreaker was over with the crowd and he had kickass theme music.
GuerrillaMonsoon
Yeah but you can't have two Shane's. That's just confusing.
cool arrow
Yeah but you can't have two Shane's. That's just confusing. But having Steve Austin, Steve Blackman, and Stevie Richards at the same time is fine. (Which of course is why Steven Regal became William Regal.) TerjeRUN
WCW was churning out some epic theme songs towards the end with Helms and Skipper. There are many things WCW did well, theme music is not one of them. *Except for NWO, Sting, Horsemen, Goldberg... but that's it.

mco543
Bunkhouse Buck, Arn Anderson, Hollywood Blondes, and Ricky Steamboat too. The Blondes theme was so good they used it for what seemed like a million guys.
TerjeRUN
When Ric Flair rocked back up at the Slammy's in some random bit, then did a couple of more random bits... that was odd looking back at it. He should go back o being HHH's lacky or something.
rainmakerrtv
I loved the earlier "La Grange" rip off Barry Windham music. "Smokin'" , not so much.
cool arrow
I'm probably in the minority here but I liked DDP's "Good gawd!" theme song. Oops, sorry, I forgot it's wrestling so it should be "Goodd gawdd!"
Lacelle
Both of Rick Rude's songs were awesome. Vader's & Paul Orndorff's were aces as well

SovietShooter
WCW had some really strong themes, and the other were awful. There was no middle ground. It was generic crap like "Basketball Highlights" music, or something awesome like the NWO theme. Lance Storm, Harlem Heat, Three Count, Rey Jr, Eddy Guerrero, some others had great themes.
