AxB
Apparently, if you go back a page to quote a post, it doesn't automatically take you to the new post when you click 'Post'. So you assume it didn't post, click 'Post' again, and presto! Double Post! Edited August 20, 2019 by AxB
AxB
It's even better if you then think to edit the post, still think it hasn't posted so you add the edit you were going to add and hit Post again. You get a triple. Edited August 20, 2019 by AxB

Craig H
I doubt it's a prequel. Before this was made official, the talk was that a new Matrix movie would be a continuation/reboot. I suppose this could still be that. I could still see Neo being out there somewhere, not really dead, but leaving clues to his existence for the resistance to find him because the truce between the machines and humans is falling apart. Trinity could fit in as rogue AI in the system that Neo created. Man, I really love the Matrix. I loved the shit with the Architect and the Merovingian. I love the final Dragonball Z fight between Smith and Neo. I even love the twist in that scene where Neo sacrifices himself. But the bulk of Revolutions is not good and all of the Zion shit is bad bad bad.
Craig H
OR... John Wick is really a simulation in the Matrix that Neo has been running to keep himself sharp.

Leonidas
Simulation theory has become a lot more well known since the trilogy ended, so maybe they could do something about that. How essentially when Mr. Anderson was unplugged from the Matrix and became Neo, he actually was just in another Matrix and so forth.

Don't mind me. I'm still salty about the Ani-Matrix having tons of cool concepts that were never incorporated into the greater mythology. Edited August 21, 2019 by J.T. The Matrix within a Matrix withing a Matrix was a fan hypothesis I really didn't like and it makes my head hurt. Eh. The Matrix Is Patched theory tries to explain why Neo's powers can affect machines in the "real world" (ie. it isn't) but it is flawed because it doesn't factor in how the Matrix really works. The Matrix does not simulate all of human history. The Matrix is static. it's always 1990 something inside the Matrix. For the Matrix Within Matrix to work, it would have to trick both humans AND the programs into believing that both realities were separate and you'd think that the higher functioning programs like the Oracle, the Engineer, and the Merovingian would be aware of what was going on. Otherwise, how could they carry out their functions? Neo can affect the machines in the real world because his ability to affect the Matrix evolves to the point where he is a living mobile hotspot and can affect the Matrix's source code no matter where it is. Of all of the fan theories, my favorite borrows from the Second Renaissance materiel from the Ani-Matrix and believes that the Matrix isn't about machines enslaving humans. It's about humans re-shackling rampant AI. The programs that are rehabilitated and learn to peacefully co-exist with humans are released while the AI that still want to enslave mankind are imprisoned in a virtual world where they believe they won the war. AxB
I'm fairly sure most things that happened in Reloaded and Revolutions happened because the Wachowskis thought "wouldn't it be cool if..." and if they didn't make sense, who cares? The fans will come up with a plausible theory or two. If we try to explain it ourselves, they'll pick it apart. If we leave it dangling unresolved and incoherent, that's just future web chatter. Free publicity, in other words.

Free publicity, in other words. Ultimately its the Waschoski's creation so we all have to be good with how it goes down because it's their decision. It's fun to theorize but trying to make arguments stick is petty dumb. It always amazes me how fans run in the directions they want to go with certain material that they cherish and debate furiously about the canon of certain settings when the creators are right there and are like "Uh, the shit went down like we meant it to, guys." I fall into that trap quite often. Edited August 21, 2019 by J.T.
HumanChessgame
If they must put out another installment in the series, I'd prefer they pull a Halloween and make a new movie that just retcons the second two out of existence. 2
RIPPA
Bombshell It is just a teaser so all it really does is show that this take on the Roger Ailes scandal will be focused on Margot Robbie, Charlize Theron, and Nicole Kidman Directed by Jay Roach As a reminder: Theron is Megyn Kelly, Kidman is Gretchen Carlson and John Lithgow is Ailes (Robbie is playing a fictionalized character for the movie)

LoneWolf&Subs
I’m sorry to say this. I hope nobody takes this comment as insensitive. But for a few seconds I thought Nicole Kidman was a near complete CG character like Tarkin was in Rogue One during that trailer. Also this looks like one of those softcore porns that are on Netflix that I found out my dad had watched because he didn’t realize that shit that you watch, and don’t finish appears on the front page. HarryArchieGus
I'm hearing a lot about this Ailes film. I'm most definitely a fan of the work of Ms. Robie and Ms. Kidman. And Charlize is definitely a capable performer. But 'directed by Jay Roach' is a tag that has me thinking 'pass'. On 8/14/2019 at 1:01 PM, Elsalvajeloco said: At this point, if it doesn't win Best Foreign Film, the fix is in. Not quite sure you really wanna put that kind of weight on a Oscar nom. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the awards show that celebrated 'Green Book' as it's best of the year. While almost entirely overlooking 'If Beale Street Could Talk'. Just a quick recent example. I certainly understand work or friend groups pooling/betting on the Oscars like sport, for fun, but is it really anything to take seriously? On 8/14/2019 at 1:40 PM, Elsalvajeloco said: If someone even TRIES to pick another film, I'm pretty sure that person will be terminated on sight. The only South Korean film to even be shortlisted for Best International Feature Film was Burning, which came out last year. Although the only submission in the last ten years that probably should have been nominated besides Burning was Mother which was directed by...Bong Joon Ho. This is his "The Departed" especially after Memories of Murder wasn't even submitted in 2003. This is his Departed? You mean it's an entertaining movie nowhere near as good as anything he's done previously, but he now, after making all his best work, fits some sorta point of sell that the Academy has decided to award him this year for this film? Wait, Mother is the only South Korean film that SHOULD have been nominated in the last 10 years? Assuming you mean Mother is the only film truly extraordinary enough to receive a nod I have to say 'bold statement'. Truthfully my favorite movies, namely Lee Chang Dong's Oasis and Secret Sunshine and the films (I've seen) of Hong Sangsoo are actually older than 10 years, so I guess I'll have to take your word for it, but are you sure about that statement?
