Wasn't there a modern setting version of Little Women released a year or two ago?

There was one released in 2017 but that was a miniseries - have no idea if that was set in modern times though

PARASITE

Directed by Bong Joon Ho (Snowpiercer, Okja)

------

This won the Palme D'Or at this year's Cannes Film Festival and will almost assuredly be on the list for Best Foreign Films, if not the Best Film. Comes out in the US in October.  Already out in Australia.  It's currently got 70 reviews on RT and is at 100%.

At this point, if it doesn't win Best Foreign Film, the fix is in.

I eagerly await South Korea nominating a different movie

If someone even TRIES to pick another film, I'm pretty sure that person will be terminated on sight. The only South Korean film to even be shortlisted for Best International Feature Film was Burning, which came out last year. Although the only submission in the last ten years that probably should have been nominated besides Burning was Mother which was directed by...Bong Joon Ho. This is his "The Departed" especially after Memories of Murder wasn't even submitted in 2003.

There was a Little Women movie released last year with Lea Thompson that was set in the modern day. It was targeted to the Christian market (released by Pure Flix) and didnt make a dent at the box office.

What. In. The. Fuck?

Look, I'd like to see a return to the Matrix, but Trinity is fucking dead. I could see them finding a way to resurrect Neo and they could even loosely follow some of the MMO story of trying to find Neo and all that.

What a weird movie news day.
