Guest Edwin
Just now, The Natural said: We've the same #1. I thought it was incredible. Brock tossing Jr.'s working main event title matches and letting them beat the crap out of him in exchange has been pretty great. Worked with AJ, worked with Bryan and now it worked with Bálor, too. Greggulator
I'm tossing Adam Cole vs. Ricochet from tonight on the list. No one will remember this match come December. But this was such a great, simple story told magically well. The high-flying Ricochet hurt his knee early in the match and that jerk Adam Cole viciously attacked it non-stop. Ricochet had to cleverly find ways to use his instant offense. Cole kept on going back to the well. But Ricochet's resilience overcame Cole's guile at the end as he gutted out the big win after dodging a few of Cole's killshots. Great selling by Ricochet throughout. Adam Cole was exceptionally smarmy in this, too. Great stuff from two really great pro wrestlers and something I'm sure they're showing recent NXT signees. Guest Edwin
I just edited my list from the first page to NXT and NXT UK matches as I don't really care for the main roster matches. I still need to watch Velveteen/Bate from When Worlds Collide as I heard it was good, Ricochet/Cole and Velveteen/Gargano as I haven't seen them on tape, but I dug Velveteen/Gargano live. Go2Sleep
I think I prefer the 1/15 Rey/Andrade match to the 1/22 2 out of 3 falls. The falls in the second match were aces, two non-finishers that absolutely should get a 3 count, but the botch and non-finish took me out of it. The 1/15 match was like a late 90s WCW cruiserweight match slipped through a wormhole to 2019. The pacing was great, and the spots were mind-blowing. Until the finish, it felt very not-WWE-like. Still my easy #2, behind Gulak/Riddle.
RazorbladeKiss87
I won't number these matches yet because I have only watched everything on this list once. The next time I have a day off work I'm going to rewatch all this stuff and give a proper ranking. If it turns out I'm not just riding the post-match high, Elimination Chamber main will be hard to beat. Still need to watch Riddle vs. Gulak and I have not watched any NXT UK except the Takeover and the two episodes after. Same with 205 Live. (I also C&P from other people's lists for the formatting will have to be corrected down the road but I just got off work and am feeling lazy, so sue me!) --Men's Elimination Chamber (Feb. 17) --Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade Cien Almas - SDL 1/15 --War Raiders vs. Strong/O'Reilly - Takerover Phoenix 1/26 --Matt Riddle vs. Kassius Ohno (WWE NXT TakeOver: Phoenix, 1/26) --Halftime Heat
maciej
quick list while killing time on a Saturday. Def more Gargano than I'd imagine I'd have in the first few months and I still need to watch most of NXT UK, but here we are. 1. Johnny Gargano vs. Ricochet, 1/26 2. Sasha Banks vs. Ronda Rousey, 1/27 3. Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Andrade Cien Almas, 1/15 4. Velveteen Dream, Aleister Black, & Ricochet vs. Adam Cole, Tomasso Ciampa, & Johnny Gargano, 2/3 5. Matt Riddle vs. Drew Gulak, 2/6 6. Finn Balor vs. Brock Lesnar, 1/27 7. Velveteen Dream vs. Johnny Gargano, 2/20 8. War Machine vs. The Undisputed Era, 1/26 9. Velveteen Dream vs. Tyler Bate, 2/6 10. Men's Smackdown Title Elimination Chamber, 2/17 11. Mustache Mountain vs. the Grizzled Young Vets, 1/12 12. Brian Fowler
It started great, and the finishing stretch was off the charts, but I thought it bogged down a lot from when Joe went out until the rapid fire AJ and Orton eliminations. I still think Ricochet/Gargano is way the fuck out ahead of everything else this year to date.
