IMPACT is still around in 2019...

There was a telephone conference on Monday 4/15 with the Judge overseeing the Anthem vs. Jeff Jarrett lawsuit where all involved were told to continue trying to work towards a settlement.

Keith Mitchell, who had long been involved in the production end here, is no longer with the company as he’s taken a full-time job with All Elite Wrestling to head their production.

Josh Mathews is said to be shouldering a massive amount of weight behind the scenes these days, taking over much of what used to be Sonjay Dutt’s responsibilities.

Mahabali Shera being brought back is obviously to give the company’s India TV partner SONY Six a new personality on the series.  The India TV deal is far and away the company’s number one revenue source, so obviously they want it to remain as healthy as possible.

Since it’s been a couple of months, I just want to point out how bad it is that The Pursuit Channel, which is partially OWNED by Anthem, still has yet to be able to correct their cable and satellite guide listings to properly show that Impact Wrestling is a two-hour series.  We continue to receive complaints about the issue from readers with different providers and again, this week, on my own provider, Verizon Fios, the series is listed for 30 minutes with 3 replays, which means that if I don’t add time to my DVR (or pay attention enough to care), I’d end up with 30 minutes and nothing more of the show.  I know that Impact management has been well aware of the issue and the channel is slow to respond to requests, but at this point, it’s beyond terrible that nothing has been fixed.  I feel bad for the company as they obviously aren’t getting the proper support from a network that shares the same parent company ownership.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is serious interesting from Impact Wrestling in signing lucha libre sensation Flamita.

Flamita is only 24-years-old and is already considered one of the most innovative and consistently excellent high-flying wrestlers in the world. He is actually a third generation talent, and despite his age already has a full decade of experience in the business.

Flamita was a mainstay for the Dragon Gate promotion in Japan up until last year, but started to gain a reputation in the U.S. after his performances in the 2017 and 2018 PWG Battle of Los Angeles tournaments. Apparently his match with Rich Swann at the United We Stand event during WrestleMania weekend was well-received, and now Impact is looking at bringing him in.

I saw where (but can’t find the link!) where Don Callis said that if AEW hadn’t happened when it did he believes Impact was very close to bringing in both Jericho AND Omega last fall which explains all the “subtle” references Callis kept dropping last fall before abruptly stopping it.

They have announced that their TV tapings will be in Philly in May

May 3rd and May 4th

The former ECW Arena obviously

They are also taping in the 29th and 30th in Toronto. That's...alot of TV tapings for one week lol

To be fair - at the time of the announcement they didn't say it was a TV Taping (though it was implied by everyone else)

It would seem odd to run ECW Arena without taping it... especially since this company basically doesn't do house shows anymore

Mahabali Shera is returning to IMPACT as he got stealth cut by the WWE

My favorite part of this is the bullshit wrestling "news" sources stated he left NXT to go back to TNA. No, dude, he got fucking cut.

I didn't "leave" the vitamin manufacturer I used to work for to become a bouncer and casino employee: security marched me the fuck out with a severance check in my hand and I was told never to return. That's GOT FIRED not CHOSE TO LEAVE.

Thank god that didn’t happen.

I want to say Impact should just suck it up and finally be the glorified Indy they’ve become and stop with this “contract” nonsense but after reading Marty’s more recent posts I am inclined to just say fuck it as long as guys are getting paid go crazy.

Slammiversary will take place on July 7 in Dallas

This is the day after the first day of New Japan's G1 taking place... in Dallas (July 6 is also the day Impact is running the show with Booker T's fed on Twitch)

(oh and the WWE has RAW in Dallas the Monday before)

I doubt Impact will be running the American Airlines Center like NJ and WWE

Michael Elgin is the number one contender for the Impact World Title.

I guess his bullshit has blown over to the point where he felt comfortable working full time in the states.

It doesn't make it right, but Moose's bullshit with his now ex-wife blew over, although it's said that was what stopped WWE from signing him.

More recently, it seems people have forgotten and/or moved on from Rich Swann and Su Yung's domestic issue.

Not me.  I don't feel a need to say much of anything regarding those that do that shit.  But I'll always have a "Fuck him" reaction when seeing him or Sami or whoever else even if I watch their matches (depends on who they're paired with)

When Su forgives him I will try but as far as I know, that hasn't happened yet.

Yeah things smoothed over between them rather quick, she posted a few times on twitter last year assuring that all was good with them.

If I were Swann, I'd never sleep with my back to Su and always sleep with one eye open.
